I've just PL'd myself to 72 (will be 80 in half hour). I was going to buy exotic gear, but I heard you can't get PTV anywhere other than AC. Should I just buy a cheap rare set so I can tank in there?

You can get PTV for Karma in the Orr temples (when they are unlocked), but only 1 or 2 parts are PTV at each.

Nothing fancy, just breaking into Hills. Decided this time out though I'd make the vid just a single assault rather than a montage of giggles. This was the first time I'd ran with Midnight Mayhem and I was very much just tagging along as they'd been doing stuff all evening and I'd got in from work late. Still, nice scrap with ze Germans near the inner gate.

Had fun playing with a vocoder while doing the musics :D

Got this the other day! Playing an Asura engi. Great fun!

How 'required' are the real money purchases though? they do a pretty good job of not 'sploding it all in your face when you log on, to 'buy $$$ now! PLOX' so I can't see much of a benefit for spending dollah.

Bag and bank expansion slots are the nearest this game comes to p2w. There are lots of nice desirable but not necessaries on the £ store tho.

It's not required at all. You can buy those gems with ingame gold in the black market trader. So you could buy everything in that shop without spending a dime...

Oh and also, bit confused about how PvP/WvW works. Is it Server V Server? Does any story tie into why servers would fight eachother if thats the case?

Yes it's server versus server, and yes there's a vague story behind it but not enough to pay any attention to.

I heard a rumour about you guys possibly moving. Is Gandara your new destination?

Rumours travel fast. :)
We talked about it, it's unlikely it will happen at this time.

We're staying on Gandara for now.

Particularly stupid music. Lyrics were from official matchup thread on GW2 forums. It went downhill from there in a good way. I think :D

Mostly this came about from attempting to defuse some of the forum warrioring on the official matchup thread. An offhand comment regarding a completely bonkers post turned into someone suggesting lyrics and then it kinda snowballed.

The lyrics probably won't make any sense to anyone that doesn't play GW2 and particularly if you aren't on the servers that played in the matchup over the last couple of weeks. It all started with an attempt to defuse some forum warrioring that turned into people suggesting lyrics on both the official forum and on our community forum.

The term guildenzerg is from the German servers and we just pretty much fell in love with it because it makes us giggle (we being the Gunnars Hold server). Some of our own players are German and put forward some of the lyrics.

Potatoes? No. Frickin'. Idea. Someone put it on the forums so it went in the lyrics.

And yep, the bassdrum in the intro really is me just saying OONTZ. I may remove the high end and actually use it as a proper bass drum at some point :D

The whole thing including vid was put together in the space of about 4-5 hours. It probably shows.

The fight itself in the vid is a bunch of randoms retaking some of our property. Big thanks to the players that basically kickstarted this stupidity. Was such a good laugh doing it. If you watch/listen to this and get at least one giggle out of it then I'm happy I've done it right. Almost right. Well something that isn't completely wrong anyway :D

I am looking for a new guild as the one I am currently on is on NA and I no loner work days to be able to play during the night, so I am looking for a new home in EU. Any of freddys still play and have an active guild that does events (pve, spvp, wvw etc) that I can join or apply to?

Still log in occasionally on Aurora Glade and see a 2 or 3 Lords of England on. Been leveling up a new char playing with my 13 yr old. He quite like it.

Just didn't grab me at all after max level (and I got to that semi-casually in 99 hours played); Granted its not really my type of thing to go for 100% map completion for the sake of it. PvP was good, until you realised that Thieves and Necros (after their buff) are just so pointless to fight against - The changes they made to match making were welcome but still left me feeling slightly empty.
WvWvW was okay but just a endless zerg-fest; brainless fun I suppose! The game is alt-unfriendly (one daily per account etc, why have this???) so leveling another char felt more of a chore than it should be.
The living story events were all mindless grind. After those it was a case of joining the World boss chest train and getting the old Events Timer up! I really wanted to love this game, my engineer was a great little character. I don't really know what I would do to improve the game, sadly. Plenty enjoy it and I can see why, and I haven't uninstalled it yet so I can check out future patches.
Maybe I'm just 'past' this MMORPG lark.

Bleh.

I am thinking that. I seem to get max level and all just to see the world but cab with any of the content after that.

I did get 100% world completion on one of my chars tho
