I get the occasional texture problem when I cross over to Portland, but on Staunton Island and Shoreland Vale it's perfect. :D

madman jump

try hitting the yellow/black barrier/ramp as you come off the bridge onto the second island at serious speed, if you do it right and turn at the last moment you can get some major rotation :)

hmm, we should get peeps to grab some impressive screenies and post to tempt those that don't already have the pc version to sort their acts out!

(GeForce 4400 has just been ordered, though :))

Choppiness even at low res !?

Well, not choppiness exactly, just slows down too much when there's a lot on screen and the whole thing just doesn't feel very fast. Tried it on 640x480 and was better, but not 100%.

Then again, maybe the PC version is slightly slower than the PS2, regardless of hardware. I dunno...

Hoping my newly born Ti4400 will sort it out. Otherwise I'm looking at a new CPU again.

This is an expensive hobby, isn't it? :(

My machine has been known to crash when there's too much going on screen..

It can be a expensive hobby .. but no more than consoles, I'd rather play deep games on PC and upgrade when I want to..

Rather than hankering after the latest sequel with better graphics on the consoles, constantly worrying if I bought the right console.

This game isn't as bad as I make out. I'm still enjoying it.

Also, one of the radio stations plays the theme music from the original GTA. :) I'm sure that wasn't in the PS2 version.

Aww... the original was hilarious! :D 'Course you relied more on your imagination back then. I remember configuring my sound card in DOS... GOURANGA! Heh heh.

Chatterbox FM was great at the start, with Fernando et al, but it gets monotonous now. :(

Has anybody managed to get their steering wheel working with it yet?

I know there's no native support, but I was hoping to be able to use the MS SideWinder software to create a GTA3 profile and manually assign keys to wheel movements and so on, except the SideWinder software hasn't been updated since before Windows 2000 came out and so only works on Win 98. I've trawled all over the MS site and you can only download v.3.02, although I've seen articles that mention v4.0. Perhaps this holds the key. Does anybody have this?

Anyone? I'd love to be able to use my wheel in this game. :(

M$ are cunts ... my Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 ( means 80watts) equaliser software won't work on Win 2000, only Win 98 .. ffs it's not even listed on their website anymore.

*Rant Over*

Well on the other forums I've visited I've not seem ONE post about someone flying a dodo for so long without cheating - I've watched friends playing (PS2 and PC) and havent seen one of them manage 20+ secs yet. If it can be done - how?

holy moly bym, it's all about balance - use side view to get your plane level with the horizon and then from there just gentle flicks to steer. It really is easy once u get the knack - i've done it for about 5mins then got bored :/

technique is all u need.

Dodo is a piece of piss to fly. I managed 5 minutes before I got thoroughly bored and decided to crash into a skyscraper. fuck Political Correctness!
