I just wonder when people split up, how big is the chance that they still remain as good friends? and does rebound ever last?

Depends on the type of people...
I know some who will begin to hate their ex, and then I know some who just can't let go and thus they have a very hard time remaining plainly as friends, which of course leads to not being very good friends...
Also, depending on what the relationship was like one can try figure out the best course of action... sometimes remaining friends with someone who really meant a lot can be very difficult.
You can't really predict the chances of staying as friends... in my opinion though, it depends on how serious the relationship was. Generally the more serious it was, the more difficult it is to remain as good friends. One may be able to become friends later on, but at first you might not see your ex for quite some time.
Rebound? You mean getting back together? The chances of it lasting can be good or can be bad... generally one could say that it will not last. Depends on the reason of splitting up... if one was unsure of their feelings about the other then I would say that it will not last, that is something that most likely may not be fixed unless the other was not being theirself in the first place.
If the reason was due to external factors, for example jealousy maybe... then there is a chance it will last. This is because the one who was jealous could learn to trust the other.
Anyway, got to run, no more time to type :p

tho I'm not a guy, I'll still answer...

It depends a lot on the people involved and the way you broke up. tho I think more often then not the 'lets stay friends' is merely an excuse to somehow soften the blow a bit, and you end up not seeing eachother anymore anyway....however it turns out tho, usually the friendship did change forever...and usually not entirely for the better....

Depends how you break up if you can stay friends, if you just drift apart then sure. If one of you is caught in bed with the other's sister then no.

A little bit both really. It was a 4 and half years relationship, then he said he needed some space to figure things out. I guess it was because he reached 30 few months ago and started wondering what happened in his life, etc etc..early mid age crisis.
1 weeks after I moved out, he started seeing this woman who he met from his work few months ago. I think he is in a reboun.

Lol, Anyway, will contiune when I am back from work :p
Thx for listening all..

I always have to tell the countless number of girls I split up with to just leave me alone and try to put me behind them. Otherwise I'm bombarded with phone calls from crying girls all wanting me back or just pestering me for no-strings-attached sex.

It's a nightmare.

This guy you where seeing obviously didn't need space or was wondering where his life went. He met some bird at work and used this as an excuse. All that bollocks he told you was just a way to let you down gently so he could start shagging work girl.

All is not lost though, he obviously wasn't the one you where meant to be with so don't lose heart. Get some nice clothes and put your makeup on. Maybe buy a wonderbra and get those girlfriends rung up. Go meet some blokes and enjoy being single.

Don't be single for too long though, a proper lady needs a man so she can spend her life dedicated to making him happy.

Anyway...its possible to be friends, but normally in the interest of her new boyfriend, I found the ex never normally called.

Hmm... well I can only speak of past experiences but here goes:

1st - Little fling, don't see her anymore
2nd - Cheated on me several times before I found out. I don't speak to her or see her anymore, but she still asks my friends about me?
Now - Been in a relationship for nearly 3 years now. We've had our arguements and break up, she calls me crying. I cave and we're a couple again.

Chris Rock, does a routine about girls having male friends, if you have a friend who is a girl..DO NOT let her boyfriend hear it.

It goes along these lines...

"You know who'll your girlfriend will cheat with, he's been in your house, drank your beer, he's the ex-boyfriend who is still a mate, you fuck up just once, and she'll be straight round to see him, crying "oh only you understand(sounds of serious sex), he's such a bastard(more sex sounds)..oh no what have I done!!!

Strike one..for ex :)

"For a girl a male friend is a like a dick in a glass case, for use in emergencys!

lol..that was funny..

I think both of us still want to be friends as 4 and half years relationship does mean a lot...we kinda agree to see each other twice a week to catch up...meantime, I am preparing to move on and enjoy my single life.

Lol, I am such a evil woman, as seeing him regularly is definitely going to drive his new bird crazy (I don't think they are going to last anyway, I am much pettier than her :p) To be honest, I doubt any women can stand their boyfriends have close female friends and don't feel jealous at all..

Anyone thinks man and woman can just be "friends"? or its always one fancies another?

I believe it is theoretically possible, but experience tells me wrong.
Maybe if one or both were gay.

It's impossible.

Men always want to shag the bird. Even if they swear they wouldn't they would if they where drunk.

Not at all a happy thought...don't know why you would think that splitting up is gay...

In any case, when i split up i still remained a good friend with my other half. We were, afterall, the same person even if split up. We did get back together after invading the Free Kingdom of Macedonia.(Another story)

But in the little while i was split up i was a good friend, maybe even best friend with myself.

Now on the rebound issue, it depends on the time left and on the judges really. I've seen rebounds being nulled if the jump left before the buzzer and i've seen some null them if the buzzer went after. All about perspective but finally about the judge.

My stance on this. A man who is just friends with a woman will always consider or simply imagine the possibilities of just bonking her. It might not happen but men still think about it...
Now, women seem to be able to do this. Yet I do not know wether they actually even think of shagging the guy... if they are being what women are usually like, then they do think about it but wont tell anyone except maybe their very best friend. Amazingly enough I have now began to meet some women who actually work the same way as guys do.... by this I mean that they openly look for guys for simple one night stands. This really doesn't happen much... the strange thing is that these cases have been some regular women, good looking and all, but they weren't any village bicycles (with which everyone's had a ride).
The point in explaining these cases was that with these women men are actually able to be good friends with...
Generally guys who have women as plain friends still do not do the same things they'd do with other guys. Like call often and ask if they're chilling anywhere and shit like that. Hangin' out.

My god that was incoherent, try make something out of it.

Oh yeah, and women are able to be just friends with guys in that sense but since the guys are not it generally doesn't happen that much...

Yeah, I know one guy who has a much more serious version of this problem. He will even begin to despise their new boyfriends and shit like that...
One of the most hilarious things I find about this "syndrome", is that the guys will then start seeing their ex as perhaps dumber than before... or then they start saying things like, "Man, her ass is beginning to get fatter", to their friends.

as she once said it "yes we love eachother but I´ll be damned if I start dating him again" ;)
