I am going to see Paul Weller later this month and I am SOOOO excited.

I saw him at Glastonbury when I was at Uni -but I cant really remember it;) , and I nearly went a couple of years ago -but it never happened.

Worried it wont live up to my expectations (you know when you are really excited and it's just not that good)

Also seeing Stereophonics and Paloma Faith, should be good:)

Paul Weller is great live, Stereophonics not so great, though both times I have them they had problems with sound equipment.

Sorry Mr C -No idea who they are? Guess you are more 'down with the kids' than me.
Will let you know if the sound is dodgey Raven.

None.

I've been to 4 gigs in my life. The first in 1991, the last in 1998. Performances simply aren't an important part of my life.

The best / most enjoyable gigs I've been to have been small lesser name bands.

Haven't seen a music gig in years, but am trying to see more stand-up this year. So far:

Dave Gorman
Lee Mack
Dara O'Brien
Rhod Gilbert

Yet to see:

John Bishop
Jason Manford
Jimmy Carr

Enjoyed them so far, looking forward to the rest.

I saw Rhod Gilbert in Edinburgh infront of about ten people about 7 years ago when he was unknown. He told a gag where he was holding a suitcase handle and told the "I was waiting for my bag at the airport when this came round the baggage carousel" story. The next time I saw him was on Live At The Apollo and he's still telling that very same gag.

It is a classic though G, I saw it on Apollo too.

He didn't tell it in his show this time, but in the encore someone shouted out and requested it, and although he didn't have the luggage handle he sort of recreated it but with the table his drink had been on, but weaving in other parts of the show. It was very funny, and seemed spontaneous, though the cynic in me could see a way that it could have been planned, at least in part (I mean if anyone's going to shout out and request a gag, it's probably going to be that one isn't it?)

It was a very funny evening though.

This year I've been to see:
Marduk
Anaal Nathrakh
Lamb of God
Job for a Cowboy
August Burns Red
Bleeding Through
Machine Head
Hatebreed
Dying Fetus
Origin
Beneath The Massacre

Hopefully attending a music festival this summer (not sure which yet), finances permitting.
Also I have tickets to see Viatrophy, and will probably getting some for Blind Guardian soon. There will likely be a bunch of other bands before the year is out too.

I've got tickets to see the prodigy in milton keynes this summer, and hopefully Jimmy Carr in august.
Was hoping to get blink 182 tickets for glasgow but ticket master always seem to run out of tickets before they're even on sale these days so does anybody know any reputable site that can help me out without me having to get detective Damini on the case?

By the way did I mention I met Eddie Izzard last year? ;)

Not many plans yet this year, but already got my Download 2012 tickets. I'm hoping to catch Four Year Strong in Leeds at the end of the month, but I keep forgetting to buy tickets.

nice one! they were wrecked as fuck when I got to see them. like fresh out the bus after xxx hours travel and straight on to stage wrecked. still managed a pretty rocking show. I imagine that if they're fresh they'll play pretty hard and you'll have a blast.
