I live in this city. If I came across him, I'd think twice about even looking at him never mind saying hello to him and asking for an autograph...

Note to self, do not make attempts to interview local footballers when freelancing as a journalist...
I'd just spit on the floor next to him tbh

Guys honestly, like other have said it should never have gone to court. Waste of public money. I still stand by my comments that the FA should punish him though.

shouldnt gone to court because anyone that couldnt afford a multi person legal team would have been told to plead guilty... you know, like the other 6 people involved had to.

TBH, anyone who knows anything about Gerrard will tell you this is totally out of charachter. He is the most placid, laid back guy you would ever meet. The beer probably played a part given that he is renowned for being the most boring c*** you could ever meet. Never socialises or anything like that so probably cannot handle his beer. I think he is telling the truth that he acted in self defence, albeit a little OTT.

Well he acted in what a drunken mind was self defense, when clearly it wasnt.... hell even he now admits he was mistaken in thinking he was going to be attacked.

Hardly a shock he got off with his multi-million pound team of lawyers and nice suit, but crikey what a travesty.

Doesnt matter. If you can make the jury believe, at the time you felt threatened, then you will get away with self defense. However, I was under the impression that laying into someone like he did, goes past self defense.

I had problems with the girlfriends ex when I first started seeing her and one day he saw me across the road and ran over with his fists clenched so I stuck one on him as soon as he got close. He phoned the police there and then. I was taken to the police station, gave my side of events and was let off with no charge as I acted in self defense to what I perceived as being a threat. I guess I wouldnt have been let off if I layed into him on the floor.
