Yeah..you're looking at 20K for the week if you have a big house nearby and can get TV crew in.

Same here, live near a golf course that has been used for PGA games, a few people I know have rented out their place...obviously nothing close to Royal Birkdale quality though :)

When I went to uni in St Andrews the big red building you can see behind the 18th green used to be a halls of residence, and students were famous for subletting it during the Dunhill Cup. Not entirely in line with the agreement signed, but the uni turned a blind eye.

Even weirder those halls are now luxury apartments - it wasn't even one of the nice halls, now they're 400K+ Even Phil Mickelson has one apparently.

So long as I can flop the old chap out and take a piss...I don't much care.

Not that I visit London if I can help it, nor use public facilities.

Good news. Forward thinking. :)

Lots of schools are going gender neutral lots are teetering on the edge - they're open planned designed so the only thing that is 'private' is the toilet itself everything else is open on a corridor.

I now firmly believe there is a bet going on.

Anger over Hammond disability comments

Who can be the biggest cunt, wins a prize.

Yes, how big a cunt can we look, without looking like a bigger cunt than John McDonnell. Turns out, you can look like a massive cunt!

Probably one of those things that may be true, but best not to say out loud.

Oh, don't worry, Labour are cunts too.

Incompetent (but possibly, who knows, well meaning) cunts VS actual, trying as hard as they can to be, cunts.

They should rename the elections to "Pick'a'Cunt" then possibly machine gun the lot of them.

Labour aren't well meaning in the slightest - swap "disabled" in Hammonds statement for "the rich" and it could have come from any of the Shadow cabinet.

How about, we make sure the rich pay their way, ask people on benefits not to take the piss, and just get on with things without finding a big scary scapegoat all the time?

Or is that far too logical?

"It's them spastics not working that is making us inefficient" is not the same as wanting to tax rich people :)

Mays public performances are that of a person close to mental collapse.
Its gone past a joke to a safeguarding issue.

I'm waiting for the 'scrap the NHS' politicians to come forward, it's only a matter of time.

Yup, they're literally starving it of resources in order to force it to admit it needs private investment.. i wonder how many tories have been promised board seats on companies waiting to jump on the NHS.

They'll likely succeed but i'll say this - good luck getting elected EVER again if you fuck the NHS over Conservatives.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix the NHS that don't involve shovelling more money at it?

Yes.

We nationalise everything, then we give the NHS whatever it needs for free.

Doesn't cost anything.

No, I don't. I do know however that it can be supported better than it currently is, if this shit government can find a magic money tree to stay in power there is no reason it can't find one to prop the NHS up. This should be fucking criminal what the Tories are doing to the NHS atm, countless thousands will die if it goes private.

The NHS has gone from 9billion to 125billion since it was started.
We are getting old, treatments are going through the roof...but on the good side, people are being treated very well mostly.

In real terms 9bn would be 367bn in today's money. Anyhoo, we're spending bigger percentage of GDP (just over 8% versus 3%) but when the NHS started we were spending 10% of GDP on defence and now we spend 2%. There's so much hysteria about health spend but in reality the actual cost isn't bad value, about average for the EU. There are no lessons to be learned from the US but some German style insurance contributions wouldn't hurt.

More nurses/docs less managers and bored, looking for something to do, clerical people.

Problem solved.

*Also, less people who think every single little thing wrong with them needs urgent medical attention, less pandering to malingering time wasters.

Next issue.

"Theresa May insists she will fight next general election"

she's got no fucking chance. She only just beat Corbyn this time, what the fuck does she think is going to change in her favour given how Brexit and the Country has been handled since the last election? you might as well say hello to PM Corbyn, because there is no opposition and she's got about as much chance as me winning the lottery to come out victorious in the next election.

The nhs will always suck up more money. It will always struggle for resources. The more you give it the more the suppliers will charge.

The more specialist treatments it will be required to support

We need to get back to less ill people being able to get appointments at gps. So a&e is freer for those who need it.

Every government since i have been alive has had the nhs ask for more money

It wont change.
