Doubtful. GT3, MGS2, Devil May Cry, Wipeout Fusion, Final Fantasy X etc versus Mario 4358309584950 and Zelda 4890309438.

Only purpose GameCube will serve is to remind people how good Nintendo USED to be.

Still, it should at least be better than Xbox.

So basically you are saying the PS2's sequels are better than the Gamecubes?



Don't get me wrong, I do like the PS2 but I do know that compared to GC and X-Box it is underpowered.

I also know that Nintendo are the MASTERS of console games and given the more powerful machine and their expertise are highly likely to produce the better games. They are also not bound by the use of Rom Carts this time.



X-Box may be powerful but it also has a fair bit of apathy towards it and a distinctly underwhelming lineup of games. Oh, and it is going to cost $100 more than Gamecude and come out after it!

Used to be Nintendo have always been the best, and they will continue being the best (except for that stupid giant red thing and the stupid add on for N64) but GC will rock, blow every other console up, and the sequals are going to the best thing ever to happen to console. Mario, looks stunning, Zelda looks like its going to be the best game ever part2. And all the other original ideas, like Metriod, Pikeman, Smash Bros, all these are going to be amazing and show other console game makers how a game SHOULD be made.

I have finally find some people who apprechiate the ultimate games company. . nintendo. Whilst other produce sequels for the ps2 which are exactly the same as the previous editions (Fifa / GT) nintendo strives 4 originality, evolution and new ideas.

Zelda GC maybe a sequel but its so different its practically a new game. On the other hand GT3 is exactly the same as the others with better graphics and new load screens

Multiplayer (and no, split screen doesn't count)

Some people will argue that the new consoles have LAN adapters and stuff, but the quality of netcode for online console games is so shat and not everyone has access to a broadband connection that online gameing on a console is a farse. It's just not fun.

What i don't understand is people who say one platform is better than another. I like my PC because i only really play online games, I can imagine that people who like the SONY consoles like fighting and driveing games since that seems to be the bulk of what comes out on the PS1/2. People who like the nintendo consoles like games where you take control of your character (a plumber with a big moustache) in a kart (personally i cant see the attraction in this). To be fair though the n64 have had some good RPGs (not that i have actually played any of them though)

Oh and Goldeneye was a joke, good idea but playing First person shooter games on a game pad is terrible. The pace of the gameplay is so slow without the good ol' keyboard and mouse.

Pretty much agree there with custy, i find get very little joy from either hoping from one platorm to the next, or driving round the same track over and over again against Ai cars.
It's all the same, nintendo games target 10-13 year olds, they just remake the same old tired early 90's run and jump games over and over again, because there targeted age range demands nothing else.
Not to mention the people who just cling to faded memories of what were in fact poor games in the first place, compared to a lot of early 8 bit computer games and there ports for the original 8bit nintendo

I've never played consoles for the sorts of games where I'd be happy playing online, so I'm quite happy to buy a console that remains Internetless. (RPGs, Fighting games, et al)

Zelda will surely be the best game to come out from the current list, and with it looking like a cartoon, it can't go far wrong

just being argumentative, but i seriously disgree with zelda2 being the gr8est game eva, personally, i think that an original concpt game should be heralded as gr8 like MGS or GT, even then those two games cant really be compared to eachother because they are of seperate genres, and as such you can only have a gr8est game in that genre, i would say that MGS2 would 0\/\/n Zelda2 but thats meh premature judgement on a basis of how good i thought the originals were, i mean zelda has i big talking tree, how "kiddie" is that???

Nothing for me has topped teh single best multiplayer game of all time.

Clearly the best gaming to be had is to come home after a night out getting mullered (in one form or another) and sit down with 4 other fucks and pummel them at your choice of game.

Goldeneye was class. Apart from the fact that you have to play it with those p00ey N64 controllers. I hate track and field. My thumbs still hurt Mario Kart's great. A game i also love is Knights for the Sega Saturn, such a whimsical, magical game.

Actually I get out quite often and I disagree. It is a laugh with some mates and a few beers, but nowhere near as satisfying as a 128 player romp on a Tribes 2 server, or such like. Quite a few of my workmates and friends from uni have PC's and we often have small LAN parties and go to bigger events. Console gaming does not even come close. But whatever floats ya boat I guess, but just because some people prefer online PC gaming does not mean they are antisocial, though many online gamers are.

You lose one major thing when you are playing with a split screen - the element of suprise. All tactics go out of the window when you know exactly where your enemies are, how much health they have and what weapons they have.

The only multiplayer game type i prefer on a console is racing games.
