Mirror's Edge is in my all-time top 10 games.
I personally think it was a breath of fresh air that didn't get the recognition it deserved.
EA/DICE say they have a small team working on the ME IP. I take that to mean "ME2 is on our internal list for development, but we're not announcing it yet".

Mass Effect is one of those games I've never played so I was surprised to find it plays like an interactive movie. It seems to be slow and gentle while you get used to it, but I've been told it has over 30 hours of gameplay.

Mirror's Edge is a fantastic game but it's so restrictive, in that you can only run where you're supposed to run.

It'd have been much better as a sandbox-style game, with lots of cool ways of getting from A-B.

I don't agree tbh, I think making it a sandbox would dilute the gameplay in some way. Make it feel too unfocused. There were choices on a microcosmic level - aside from there being two paths to take for most things, the way you take those paths, what moves you do could be changed for varying degrees of efficiency.

As proven in the time trials and speed runs. There is a way to do the each stage in a blistering fast time but you need to know your controls very well indeed.

So is Mafia 2 worth £5? Halflife games are extra cheap on steam atm too, in case you're like me and were missing one of the episodes :)

Demo was fun, I think I'll give it a bash for 5 quid. The DLC is 1.50 ish down from 7 quid too.

Yeah I don't know how Edmond does it, must have multiple pcs and hard drives :ninja:

Even my stock has 688gigs on it :eek7:

How much porn do you have?! :D

I have to disagree with the mirrors edge praise here; all it's got going is that it's something new, but after the demo, there's really no need to see more.

ME2 might be interesting though, if they've improved on the formula.

I played (technically I should say "I watched Will play") Borderlands while visiting Will this new year's. Looked fun! Is it available on PC?

Yes and it was in the sale and it will now be stupidly more expensive than necessary. If you get it get the GoTY edition (details can be found on Steam) and then tell me and myself you and Mr Will should go shoot some evils in the badlands

Got 50odd hours out of it. Not a lot of replay value in the single player. Not played it online though.

I bought Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 as part of the Steam sale.

I've racked up about 48 hours of gameplay on Mass Effect in 2 weeks and I've still got the Ilos mission left to do. I've completed just about every side assignment and collectible quest. It's looking like I've gone down the Liara romantic interest subplot without intending to. :)

Apparently Mass Effect 2 has a similar amount of gameplay but more involved storylines. We'll see.

Totally different game style though. Throws away almost every pretense of RPGness and becomes a talky-FPS.

To some extent true but it is still a very good game non the less and delivers alot of playable hours for a singleplayer game.

£8 is still too high for something that should be free :) Though I suppose you do get a remote control for your...actually...what is the point in a remote control for the x-box? Ye oldy worldy DvDs? Can't you just use the pad?
