Steam is doing a big give away, every 2 days 20 people win the top 5 games on their wishlist, and if you complete 1 objective every 2 days(new ones are given out every 2 days(and you can go back and do the one's previously handed out)) and log in to steam on the 20th you have a chance to win 100 games.

Welcome to Steam

Played it last night for the first time with my 5.1 headphones and all lights off and the GF was at work so I was all alone. Lets just say I am not doing that again. That game does everything to put you on edge, only played 30mins so far.

meet any bad things yet? according to the game you can't kill them/it, but have to use your wits to evade.

completely different mind set for me to get in to: I usually face baddies while toting a shit hot plasma cannon :)

I spent 10 mins hid in a cupboard ::eek:.

I'm in the cellar maze part being chased by the invisible thing splashing about in the water, wildly throwing barrels behind me trying to get to the door before it rips me apart

This was on 11th Nov.Not played it since, wonder if playing with no sound and my eyes closed will help?

I just got this in my inbox from TheWitcher newsletter if anyone's interested:

Sorry for inundating your mailbox again, but probably because of some evil gnomes there was a mistake in the last newsletter which could create some confusion. The pre-order offer for The Witcher 2 at GOG.com indeed includes 5 classic RPGs to choose from as a free gift that comes if you buy the new adventures of the brave Geralt. The games are, exactly as it was stated on the GOG.com website from the beginning: Beyond Divinity, Divine Divinity, Gothic 2 Gold, Realms of Arkania 1+2 or Realms of Arkania 3. This is one of the sweetest deals out there!

It doesn't actually seem as good as it sounds on closer inspection. You only get to choose from one of those 5 games.

when you purchase it, it will say you will/wont get extra copies
as a rule :
if its valve, you probably WILL get a spare copy
if it isnt valve, you probably WONT

£3.34 here too...

I'm not logged in? Maybe you have to be logged in to get the lower price?

Try ctrl + f5 and see if it's still zero meg?

Yep, following the link through savy gamer works. The link in your first post doesn't for some reason.

Just checked in before bed, you can now download your games on steam. Gotta love these sales. :)

This is the problem I've found.
In the last few weeks I've grabbed L4D2, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Blur and a couple of others... and they're like 8-10GB each!

I can't install all the games at the same time or I wouldn't have any hard drive space left! I could delete some of the xxx folder but no bloke likes deleting adult educational material. :)

This is why my last HDD purchase was a 1TB drive. Currently 641/931GB free, and that's 187GB in Steam alone, 30GB for WoW, and perhaps 5GB for other non-Steam games. I'll be fine for quite a while yet :).

(Yes, all the porn and music etc lives on my server instead.)
