I know we've had a thread on GMail recently, but I thought I'd shove it in a new thread as it's not regarding web-based mail.

Basically, I'm looking for reliable POP3/SMTP mail, free. It can be web-based as well, this would be preferable but largely I need to be able to handle all my e-mail in The Bat!.

What I'd love is for someone to point me to a service that provides POP/SMTP without restraints (by that I mean they don't offer a 'free' service as well as a 'pay' service if one exists!

One day when I've finished fiddling about with my computer and stuff at home I'll be in a position to buy webspace and actually be able to put some content (albeit shit) on the net and obviously I'll get my mail needs with that, but need something to hold me for the indefinite period of time until then... Hotmail's just a pain in the arse....

For those that don't know of one, never fear: your reading of this thread has not gone to waste, for I have included a picture of a lemon. What consolation!

If you have an Orange mobile then you have a free ...@orange.net POP3/SMTP, Web and WAP email.

If you're not with Orange, then maybe your mobile provider offers something similar.

And hey! Love that lemon!
