Free Level Not a Full Level?

Just wondered if anyone had this problem...

Was level 40 and into 9th bub, then got a free level. Decided to go get it straight away so I'd know what I would need for 42 afterwards.

When I got the free level though it only moved me to 41.5 and about half way into the 5th bub. I tried killing a mob just in case it was something odd that needed bumped after the mini ding but had no effect.

I'm 99% sure when my Valewalker got a free level at 41 (and no XP) it pushed him right to 42.

I've reported it to RightNow but wondered if i was right in expecting to get to 41.9 or am I understanding it wrong?

You get the amount of exp it would take to advance 1 level from your current level. As every level needs more exp to advance this amount will not equal 100% of a higher level.

Example (I made up the numbers):

lvl 39 takes 75.000.000.000 exp
lvl 40 takes 100.000.000.000 exp
lvl 41 takes 150.000.000.000 exp

You are you ding 39 and will be awarded the 100.000.000.000 exp for lvl 40 one week later. During that week you level some and reach lvl 40.9 wich leaves you with 10.000.000.000 exp to go for 41. Now you get the 100.000.000.000, ding 41 and have 90.000.000.000 left. That would be a little more than half a lvl 41.

I hope you get the idea. (I wouldnt be surprised if not cause I am shitty at explaining things.)

EDIT: I'm not sure if I do understand you right but I took my free level immediately so I would of expected a full level, I didnt wait or do any XP in between it been given and taken.

Would be nice if a GM could clarify for us exactly what should happen assuming if when you get a free level you take it immediately.

It's not a bug. You don't always get 10 full bubbles. You get the amount of exp required to take you from the start of your current level to the start of your next level. I explained the system in more detail here

Thank god thats all cleared up now all i ever see now is people not understanding the free lvl system.
