For a number of days, scholars have sought to interpret the dream they had during New Year's night. They slept little, for fear of letting the abominable occupant of Darkness Falls take dominion. They sent friends to scout the sites, but they detected no unusual activity.

It was eventually from Agramon that the news came. Behemoth had been sighted on the Island and the first to approach him had been killed. Their burnt or shredded bodies were found scattered on the scorched earth. Those who had managed to flee roamed aimlessly, madness in their eyes. The information soon reached the capitals, and a state of alert was decreed. Each realm decided to post officials at their frontier posts to warn any adventurers who attempted to venture forth.
