Freddyshouse Minecraft server

Deebs have been so nice, and is now hosting the Minecraft server for us on FH.


This is a SMP server(Survival Multiplayer server), wich basically means you have to build and survive through the days.

For those of you who do not know, or have not tried Minecraft before. Go to Minecraft and see for yourself! It is a very addictive game, it is about building different objects with blocks you can mine all around the world.

The server is currently running these mods:

SimpleAtlanta: Is a mod wich allows you to teleport to other players, using these commands.

/tp <Insert playername>
/tphere <Instert playername>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

SimpleHome: Gives you the ability to set a home location where you can port to at any time.

/sethome - When you use this command, your home location is set to the location you are standing.

/home - Ports you to the location you have set as home

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stargate: Portals set up through the world, wich allows you to get from one location to another within seconds, using these portals.

Atm, these are the only mods installed, but other mods might come later on, by requests from the players.

-This server is created for the FH community, this means: DO NOT past out the server-ip on other websites.

-People spend countless of hours building objects in this world, and there are people joining servers only to grief(Destroying everything just for fun). Wich ofcourse is not allowed on the server.

-You are allowed to bring friends you have outside the FH community. If you know they can behave.

-People who start griefing on purpose will be banned from the server right away.

Will it run on windows '95?

Not sure, havent used Windows 95 for countless of years But it is a java game afterall, so it might be able to run it!

Quick question though. Do I need to download these mods or is it all managed server side?

No download required and if you change your outlook(char.png in main zip file), others will see it too.

It's rather very nice and should be implemented in higher A titles too.

As toht says, all you have to do is download the client and play =) Everything is saved within the server. And if you later on wants something added to it, then please just say so!

Whenever youd ie now, you will spawn in a deserted place(not that far tho). To get back to the old Castleroads just use /spawn. Or /home to get to your home location

The server seems to be down atm

Last night I found a huge underground cave system which I have now cleared of creeps and torched up.

How on earth do people mine enough iron to make mine cart tracks? I don't seem to have much luck with minerals!

Yeah for some reason it wouldn't let me on first thing. tried a few times and it let me.

It is a bug with the minecraft, that sometimes wont allow you to logg in(You have to try multiple times to do so). I got no idea why it happens, but it does.

hopefully it will be fixed when next version is released =)

Minecraft.net is down. That means you can't connect to the server, untill they get the site up again.

I might pop on for a few hours during the week. Don't really have time atm. Incidentally, it may pay to have Cartographer installed on the server so you can generate up to date maps as and when you need them to post in a freddies wiki or whatever. It supports cave systems now too.

According to the bitching on http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=197975&start=120 it seems the server has gone pop and nobody can get on.

I do hope the rumour that they have all buggered off for the week is bollocks!

I doubt the entire firm is gone for a entire week, so that noone can fix the servers

I bet they are working hard to get a bigger server up and running, I don't think they expected such a population boost that have been lately for the game.

Hopefully it is up tomorrow, so I can finish my monster trap
