I like this thread. It reminds me of getting drunk with a friend and having a lengthy debate over whether a dolphin is better than a microwave. I came up with many innovative dolphin based cooking ideas and my mate thought up some fantastic microwave fishing concepts.

Nobody won but it was a damn good laugh.

Mate of mine was headhunted for a job in the states. Designing plastic bottles of all things.

He could whack out about 3 designs a month getting about 3 of these to completion a quarter. They offered him the job because it was taking a team of eight twice the time to be half as productive.

£90,000/$180,000 p.a. They also gave him "British" holidays (he got 20 days a year, apparently most yanks only get ten believe it or not!). They got him to head up the department and he turned it around in 18 months.

He lasted two years. His reasons for leaving was the belief stated by Tom above and the fact that 90% of them were, and I quote, "just so fucking retarded that I couldn't stomach another minute in the shithole".

I gave it 3 weeks when I visited him. Was asked all the standard stuff, like "Do you speak English in England?" and "isn't England near London?".

Now they want your iris scans and fingerprints to go there. Lol! Never again thanks

We do have an enormous ignorant portion of our population. Many times I've had to restrain myself from throttling them. I deal with people on a daily basis that truly have ruined my faith in humanity. And I don't discount the idea that our public school system is largely to blame.

However... You guys seem to like to point fingers across the pond while completely ignoring your own issues with entitlement and the complacency and apathy (greatly apparent here) that it creates.
