But as 1.60 kicks inn the mincer get alot of loving. skalds what do they get? nada, nothing. it is a shame really. That is why i have just started a new fighter this time a zerk. :)

Landshark your like one of those yanks on vn that dont play a skald and still insist they aint gimps. Play one as long as i have then draw conclusions.

I have played skald since the beginning. but i have just become lvl 50. or for 4 weeks ago. and i say that skalds aint the best but the speed i love it :)

i dinged 50 on me troll skald 2 months ago, but now rolling a SB.
ok me skald is rr4 after 2 months and thats slow its just that a skald to me in PVE is ok but RVR is shite.

i dinged 50, 1 month ago and i am rr3 l3 but if you go to odins and such solo there is allways a player with no speed there and cries for a taxi. i have killed three players solo with my skald. one sorc one cleric and one blademaster. the sorc was the only one with higher rr than me. and the blademaster was 46-49 cause he had no epic and was low rr and yellow to me.

The cleric allmost killed me and the blademaster allmost killed me the sorc well. sorc don't have much chance if you get in close and keep interupt him with dd. i tried against a ns got owned bad and an infil owned me bad and a friar one on one i got ofc owned. never met a minstrel one on one cause they allways have a infil with them. i had no buffs all the times cause i don't have a buffbot. i wanna play fair and square.

Skalds got better DDs / mez.
Minstrels got better DDs / stun.

Those are the most important changes of next patch (lets face it a crap ablative or climbing a wall doesn't do much for most fights).

Also that damage there isn't that uber for 50 slash. Given most of what other people have been talking about is using a sabre, which is faster than a bastard sword, we're going to get smaller hits. Also 450 on hatrix, given the +338 style bonus he's either low con or sitting, omfg you're uber you cap on a greencon. Well done. :p

The skald got all of the mincers and bards strengths and non of the weaknesses.

DD's
Snare
insta mezz
Speed
Chain
decent weapon spec (even LW)
no fuckin about with instruments

So what was your point again ?

Try playin a mincer without any decent CC, or a bard that if you want speed and CC you got worse fuckin melee dmg than a caster. Then come back an whine.

Sry to say but any skald who can't win or at least get away with that lot is severly shite ;)

not entirely true. minstrels got stealth, ae mezz (although it suck), power song, demezz, and I bet there is something else that I have forgotten.

Hmm, the differences between skald and minstrel are entirely situational. Imho before purge and IP etc came in, minstrels were a lot better off than skalds. But these days I can't see a particular difference.

Skald does do better damage than the minstrel, and has better defensive CC.
(I rate instas with duration that you can break, defensive, compared to low-duration unbreakable stun, which is offensive, and stealth+cast mezz which again is offensive.)

I think our DDs are about equal, all things said and done, and I think both classes would consider ourselves infinitely better off if our shouts were somehow moved to a less resisted damage table. Crush, for instance :p Or dmgtype-less, like triple wield.

a) Your stealth has been gimpe since SH/TS man...i wouldn't really call it a strength since you take a fairly big hit in melee spec to get it to a usefull lvl (unless you got sommin else i don't know about ;)).

b) he's talkin about soloing ability. Fail to see what mana song has to do wit it.

c) i only ever saw your 5 hour cast time mezz land once.....i'd hate to be the guy waving his arms around for 5 seconds in the "look hit me" pose. And again not relivant, he's talkin solo (have you seriously ever use that 5 second mezz of yours solo in the current patch???).

d) Who's he gonna demezz solo ?

He aint sayin a skald can't do his job in grp...he's saying he can't solo.....an i say he's got a stronger solo char then either realms speed class.

had a quick look at the 1st 4 pics ( rest dont work)

not a single kill had maxed slash resists. SO I'm guessing not one of them was 50. try killing a lvl 50 player without buffs before expanding your ego tooo much lol

Naa, like a scout :p. But they aslo have dd's. Scouts have a almost unusable bow :C.

No, I use my flute mez solo, it's faster casting, lasts twice as long, takes no power and you can move and DD while casting it. The flute mez has been a staple of the solo minstrel since daoc was released, what sort of tard would make sweeping comments about the class without knowing that? So in summary, have you ever seen a minstrel solo ever?
