Im sure ur all right...but its a str/CON debuff...so the con gets debuffed anyhow right? doesnt it then take from the max hps ie no matter what remove those 200 or w00tever hps...ah well

mebbe i lost the point sumwhere.

Anyone got a real nubi breakdown of this debuff issue?

Con debuff only works on your hit points if you have not lost any damage.

It is applied after the weapon damage that has the debuff on it.

So say for example you have full HP and that the debuff equates to 200 hp then you will only lose HP due to the debuff IF the initial attack was less than 200.

Which is why you should always apply a DOT poison after the debuff. The DOT will act after the debuff has taken effect - and so there is more chance of you reducing your enemies hit points by debuff.

In essence, your perforate artery and your debuff will partially cancel each other out...except for the strength aspect that is.

yay for SBs ability to choose between slash and slash and not have the ability to debuff thrusters to the same levels...not to mention having our tertiary stat as our weaponskill numerator (sorry - couldnt help that last bit)

That thing about PA + debuff and the guy still having full HP bar has to do with the way your HP is displayed imo.

You should keep an eye on your HP bar when you are debuffed.

For example : If I win a fight (it does happen to us SB's once in a while) I have 2/3 HP left in my bar. The debuffs wears off and I have 1/2 left in my HP bar. This doesn't mean I lost HP, it means I regained my con and my HP pool is bigger now.

I'll try to explain in simple numbers.

Say I have 1000 HP
I get debuffed and my max HP is 750 now.
After the fight I have 500 HP left.
500 out of 750 is 2/3 so my HP bar is filled to 2/3
The debuff wears off and now I have 500 out of 1000 HP so my bar is filled to 50%

So imo the PA + debuff and still see 100% HP is a bug/feature in the way HP are updated.

Thats exactly how i understand it Cyradix.

Since i am training a new SB up, i need to get this straight in my head.

To use a different example...

Mage / Tank dueling, Mage uses a con debuff, Debuf sticks, and tanks con is reduced.

Surely this means the tanks max hp total will be reduced, (since his con score is lower, thus allowing less total HP)

His HP bar will not appear to move, but he will go from say 1500 total hp to 1300 total hp.

That is my understanding of con debuffing on Players.

So...

Do Stealther venoms work the same way?

My understanding is this...

Say i am using a two hander which has a con debuff on. I fluff the PA, and only hit for say 100 damage. The con debuff kicks in, and the guys total HP are reduced by 200

How is this displayed?

From what i have read... He looses 100 hp from my damage, then the debuff affects, and his new con score reduces is TOTAL hp value by 200, it woill look like he has a full bar, but really he is 200 lower.

That right?

thats how it works m8, hp bar is a way to display your hps.
but when you are buffed and your hp its more than supposed to be and you get hit+debuffed your hp might look like u got no damage, and debuff is debuff no matter how much you hit or not or how much hp the enemy had or if he is buffed or not THE DEBUFF IS STILL DEBUFF, i hope those smartasses can understand it, and also i hope ( for infils more cause the sb's whining for 2,2 spec and bla bla ) all stealther know that having the last debuff is very important.

once again imo... stealther's power is PA and Poison, all of them should have those maxed.

you know what is buff?

Debuff is the opposite.

just ignore that a hp bar exist, look at your HP when u r not buffed. Lets say you have 1200, you getting buffs, now you CAN have lets say 1700 ( look that i am saying you CAN ! but cause you just got buffs you still have 1200 so in a few seconds [rest etc] your hp will be for real 1700 ).

now lets say you fighting and you lost 1680 hp and you have only 20 hp and someone hit you for 10 only and debuff you with the highest debuff... you dont die but now your HP ( till the debuff expires ) can be only lets say 1300, so while you are debuffed a healer comes and heal you while you only have 10 hp, he can heal you for only 1290 hp, now after debuff expires you can have your 1700 hp back, your hp bar looks like you lost hp but now its only cause you NOW CAN be fully healed...
So debuff is not damage. its only... debuff.

I remeber one time I ran solo and an unbuffed infil jumped me, he did PA/CD etc and just as the stun had ended his offhand hit( the n00b had debuff on offhand), and I was now with a full hp bar (think the debuff took 400 hp from my 2k so it was now displayed as 1600). So all the dmg he did during the stun +pa (~400 dmg) was completely worthless, he could have hit me with a bronze dirk with debuff on it and it would do the same dmg on me (I know u cant apply the debuff to a bronze dirk but whatever

).

So the point is before the debuff hit I had ~1600/2000 then the debuff hit and I had 1600/1600.

I have no idea what u have said Rambo but keep on trying

1 of the main reasons i went DW with mah infil.

except for that whole penetrate-BT, land CD-stun and do more damage with CD-SS thing.

but 50DW does free up a lot of QB slots
