Just want to say kalis in my guild has respecced to 50 dw 50 thrust 21 cs 25 env 34 stealth and hes dam pleased with it,so all of you who whink 50 dw 50 thrust isn't good think again.

nope, a 5% increase in chance to DW is all you get from speccing from 40 to 50.

The loss from envenom damage/debuff etc is immense compared to the extra damage you get from dual wielding an extra 1 in 20 attacks.

Well it increases damage on Dual Wield styles not on the thrust styles that he will be using...

The only reason the template works, is because of the lv50 styles in the Thrust and DW lines.

Thrust = Evade style, nice damage, 9? second stun
DW = 'Front' positional style, heavy damage. As your enemy is mostly facing you, it's almost a use-anytime style.


I believe Darkgrey on the US servers started this trend. He's been known to take on multiple foes and win, but then shadowzerkers can do that also and that's what I'll be going for on PvP day.

50 DW is 60% chance to dual wield... isnt it right that Left Axe Sb's can dual wield at will?

A use any time high damage style for a thruster sounds handy... but how high is that damage?

I believe Dual Shadows hits for about the same as Dragonfang.

Roughly ~150 against resist, ~200 on neutral, and ~250 on vulnerable armour. Don't quote me on those, but that's close to what you're looking for.

Left Axe users always Dual Wield with their LA styles. They have some fairly damaging moves and shadowzerkers, with a common spec of 44-Axe, 44 LeftAxe, 35 Env, 35 Stealth(something like that), don't need PA to finish fights quickly.

The only reason they spec stealth is to get into the heat of the battle and open with LA styles. It sounds alot like my style of playing, with a careless edge, as you don't need to position yourself for PAs.

Dual shadows for me hits shitloads but has a slight defence penalty yet i still think its a great style.

Dual shadows, supposedly not hit much harder then garrote but hardly any end use because of it being a positional style.

and since thrust line lacks any good anytime Puncture chain or tranquilize chain?

And greydark started the avalanche, but he too was once a crit inf and respecced with patch there are 3 confirmed infs that was this before patch but noone listened to them until greydark published his video.

And generic poster... Levelling as a mercfiltrator sucks... Unless you got groups planned until you are 50 prepare to be gimped. Whole template is based on dragonfang and dual shadows.

Only thing I dont like is that the Dual Shadows defence penalty is higher than most defence penalties... this means less evades and less dragonfangs.... still a very appealing template though..

This would give an extra 84 damage from DOT and better debuff etc... would depend how much his average PA hits for compared to an average dual shadows attack.

The poison would make it easier to take down multiple opponents... as your DOT kills the stunned attacker while you deal with his friend..

Do you know how his PA compares to a dual shadows?

garrote scales with CS specc. 21 CS won't be enough to give a fair comparison... but I said an estimate same damage, not supposed to be any really big difference from what I saw; a style sheet with style damage.

greydark's video is shit, he shows 1 maybe 2 kills and then it cuts off to another scene.

After patch with lotsa buffs i killed 1 skald and hunter at the same time (without pa or ignore pain <- i dont have ip), then another skald came along before timer to stealth, killed that one too, and then a 3rd skald came along and killed me, but i reckon i woulda got him if I'd evaded and had endurance for df

Think they were all 50 in epic armour, and one of the skalds either IPd or used First aid (hp shot up anyway) :d Got some nice resists on the shouts tho (which usually do 1/3rd of my hp )

Any spec that you're comfortable with is a good spec.
I agree that the Greydark movie is shite..anyone can make a movie that makes them look great.(especially when you make a movie where you're buffed and your enemies health drop really fast even when you're not hitting )

Should just come with a disclaimer...

The damage seen on the movie is not the damage of dualshadows or offhandhitting but Mastery of Pain 4.

I noticed though he only fought 3 persons in the movie in epic armour 2 NS and one 7/10 health berzerker (which a ministrel was hitting too) and both NS all his damage was from dragonfang.

Still like the movie though.

I like tyfus game movies too and you got him whining on VNboards over the 200(-300) hits with his spells.

F6 - out of combat mode.. FA2 - 8 (df or whatever). It works so long as you arent in combat mode...

also, that's a stupid spec. Lifebane is the biggest killer around and worth more points than some gimpy sodding melee damage. DoT not only stops restealthing, it hurts them around 80/tick. In addition the high level debuffs ruin their endurance and weaken the damage they do to you.

If you want to be a tank, become an armsman an wear plate, if you want to be an infiltrator go...
