I'm almost sure Fabregas won't. No matter how this season turns out.

Whichever way you look at it, we are going to be busy in the transfer market again!

garay already signed, Zambrotta going to AC, Alves, Sagnol and Lahm pretty much done and dusted, Fabregas and Drogba pretty close to being finalised, with lampard a posibility and benzama either this year or next.

Got Garay in my FM08 World League side, is making Rio Ferdinand look lke a mug. Lahm is class, I was really hoping United would get him after passing up on Hutton. :(

You think Drogba & Fabregas will move to Barcelona in the summer Marc?

I am lead to believe that both are interested, especially Drogba whos pretty much being whored around every top club in Europe at the moment!

I'm quite resigned to the fact Drogba will sod off somewhere else - it's not like we won't get a good deal for him and we don't exactly lack the financial muscle to find a replacement - would be nice tosee Dos Santos develop a bit too. But Drogba will never have the same recognition at Barcelona, he's practically got god-like status at Chelsea over recent years.

If Lampard has a shred of loyalty he'll stay at Chelsea, and moving to Barcelona he'd be in the same boat as Drogba.

However where do they fit in? Can you really see Eto'o/Ronaldinho/Messi/Henry/Gudjohnson/Drogba as your forward choices and Xavi/Deco/Iniesta/Lampard/Santos/Edmilson and whoever else plays around midfield for Barcelona.

I thought we had selection problems - let alone if Barca are to be busy in the summer market.

Mourinho has been approached by a german team apprantly (not bayern though). I dont know any more, but not sure I could see Drogba playing for a german team if it wasnt Bayern.

I really doubt his dying/diving would go down to well over there...

Mourinho will go to one of these teams: Inter, Barcelona, AC Milao. In my opinion, he'll go to Barcelona, seems like a team that suits him. Tho with the past tensions, between him and the barcelonian fans, when he was in chelsea. Someone will have to put aside their divergencies (sp?).

Cesc has said he will go no where this summer as Arsenal is the best place for him. Add to that he has said if offered he would sign a new Arsenal contract yet Barce still continue to say they are close to signing him in Feb? If he moves i will be shocked as if Arsenal did not snap him up he would not be where he is now as Barce were not offering him a pro contract.

If R.Madrid win the league again this year then Rikjaard is down the road, that is a foregone conclusion. Jose is the perfect fit for that job and he has the personality to bring in the people that Barcelona have been tracking for years.

Cautioned?? If it was you or I we would be facing charges and a court appearance. It is one rule for the rich and the rest of us get stitched up.

lol not really, yes all famous people get special treatment no doubt, but the article said comon assult can be anything from spiting to pushing, so no1 would ever go to court over that, the guy he pushed of whateva obvioulsy new who carra was and tried his luck thinking he would get some sort of compo or settlement

You'd expect to appear in court for pushing someone who was probably harassing you?
Get real.

The reason it appears as if they get away with more is because something that probably happens once a day on your road becomes a huge fight involving guns and millions of pounds of drugs by the time you read about it in the morning papers.

Its not that easy. Johann Cruyff holds a lot of influence at Barcelona, hes pretty much Laportes right hand man, but Cruyff is totally against Jose taking over

I dunno, Inter and AC have both a load of quality, but yeh, the italian league is boring to watch the football is worse then both the other big 2

however i figure the place to be will soon be the Bundesliga, football in germany is on the up, with sellout crowds guaranteed, terracing, and the cheapest top flight football you'll ever find, im feeling the italian league will be replaced by bundesliga in terms of popularity and importance for a player to make a name for themselves

Germany football is quite entertaining, closest thing to the permiership anyway. Italien football is over rated, i watch it most week ends on channel 5 and tbh it is Zzzz very slow game, Alex Ferguson may think the old trafford supporters arnt behind the team 100%, but compared to Italien crouds its like a nuke going off.

Exactly, italian football is awful, the crowds are crap... just close the league down now haha..

The atmosphere in the munich derby (bayern vs 1860) sounded awesome even though the match itself wasnt.

You do realize that Gerrard is Liverpools own product and he has stated he wont be joining any other major clubs. Cant see that changing anytime soon.

Gerrard really plays with heart. not a money seeking w*nker like so many

couldn't he play with his heart somewhere else? honestly, people are taking loyality a little too far. He has his reasons for leaving the club, but everyone will probably call him a greedy bastard if he does.

Re comments about the Italian league: So they didnt just win the world cup with all the players in their squad playing their football in seria A? I hate Italian football. I hate the way the corruption and violence gets brushed away as a cute misdemenor. However its not a shit league because they produce very good Italian players.
I dont know what will happen with Gerrard. He doesnt deserve to be in a team with bit-part scrubs like Crouch, Benayoun, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Kewell etc. The team that he would be really really good for would be Man U, but can you honestly ever imagine him wearing a Man U shirt?

You know I have always thought that he and Fergie wouls have been match made in heaven, in a different time under different circumstances I feel Fergie could have pushed Stevie G far beyond the player he currently is. He has all the passion in the world for the game but sadly most week he is stuck out on the pitch with 8 or 9 donkeys who have no concept of what 'playing for the shirt' means.

Anyway back to the topic, as loyal as he has been to Liverpool everyone has thier limits and I think another repeat of this season would be the final straw for him. He really could and maybe should have left 3 years ago but didn't because he loves Liverpool but it will be a travesty if a player as good as him finishes his career without the prize he cherishes most, a league title. If that means going to Spain next year I honestly think it will be a step he finally takes, he has been ultra loyal to his club for a decade but after reading that interview I get the impression that he is starting to feel it may never happen for him at Liverpool.

If Liverpool don't win the title within the next 2-3 years can you really be sure of that?

If you say so Keitan - if Liverpool fail to win the league in the next few years i can see him jumping ship to go to spain or italy for a league title.

And what makes you think Lampard would get paid more than he is asking for at the moment then?

Sorry Keitan but your blind worship towards Liverpool really does blinker your view on other teams.

Whats funny about them?

Countless times you fail to acknowledge your team's shortcomings and seem incapable of dealing with other peoples opinions.

You said it the other day i'm one of the few who've not lost their cool in a football thread - you on the other hand were banned for doing so, and evidently you haven't learnt from your holiday.

Fabregas pretty close to being finalised

sorry to break your dreams Marc.

Barcelona chief: We´d never take Arsenal star Fabregas back

Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain has said he would never resign Arsenal star midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas, who quit the Nou Camp as a teenager to sign for Arsenal, has been constantly linked with a move back to Barcelona after a sparkling season at the Emirates. But Begiristain is angry the midfielder left the Nou Camp in the first place and insists he would not be welcome back.
´There is always a risk when you decide to leave Barcelona and the fact is that he cannot return,´ he said.
´He, as was hoped, would now be in the first team. ´Bojan is an example. He had faith and did not go to England.´
Begiristain also insisted the club had no plans to replace boss Frank Rijkaard with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. ´We like the image the the club has in the world. We continue to have faith in Rijkaard. We like his attitude,´ he continued. ´What we ask from a coach is responsibility and we think that he represents that.
´That was a consequence of what has been going on this year. Since pre-season there have been some very tense press conferences.´
