Fair play to the fella, he didn't pull any punches and you can tell his is totally frustrated.

ESPNsoccernet - England - 'It's not nearly good enough', vents Gerrard

There have been loads of players in the last 20 years that were not fit to lace his boots and yet they have won league titles and he hasn't. It can't be easy to be a world class player and yet never been part of a championship winning side. I think he will give it another year and if it doesn't improve to the point where they are serious contenders for the league he will be off to pastures new.

I think he is to loyal for his own good at that club, imo i really think liverpool have an over rated team, if you compare the squad position to position against a club like man utd i'd say man utd have better players in every single position so its not really any supprise they dont really get any where every season.

If i was him i'd move to somewhere in the summer where he has a chance of actually winning a cup on a regular basis, wether that be barca or madrid or even italy.. i think madrid would suit him better my self, to fill that spot which zidane left.

That was the news of the world

What you have to remember, how many of these "Stories" actually come true? Newspapers just make up a story and if by chance it comes true, they can ejaculate about how it was their exclusive

As Benitez said at a recent press conference, there are 2 newspapers whos stories you should never believe. The Sun and the News of the world

Why would Arse not have a team? The only players we have signed/been linked with are Fabregas and Henry. Did you know Fabregas was at the Nou Camp over xmas with his agent? You do now ;)

Also, contrary to rumours, Deco will not be plying his trade in the premiership. Not next season, not ever.

Was that the same week Wenger was? And i will believe Cesc over Barce he is adament he will play there at some point but not next season.

Gerrard should move his ass to Inter. Veira is old, and he could make a great partnership with Cambiasso.

Cesc, Ronaldo, Lampard and Gerrard will all be gone in the next 2-3 years. My opinion of course but they all know they will never get the acclaim they might truely deserve until they have done the business in 2 or 3 of Europe's top leagues. As an an example, Van Nistelrooy. He was very highly rated before he went to Spain but his star has risen considerably since joining Real Madrid and winning the Spanish title.

All 4 of the above will be thinking much the same, a move to a top Spanish or Italian club will be very tempting as success abroad puts them up there will the best players in recent history.

I cant see any premiership star moving to Italy. Their league is a joke now. Ronaldo only went there because he was too scared of the premiership. Think back 10-15 years ago and Italy boasted teams like AC, Inter, Roma, Juventus, Torino, Lazio, Palermo and Fiorentina who were all on a par with the top spanish and UK clubs. Now look at their top teams, they are gash!!

Spain is the most likely destination.

Im not saying he will move there - it would be best for him though. He won't become a superstar in spain.

I dunno, Inter and AC have both a load of quality, but yeh, the italian league is boring to watch the football is worse then both the other big 2

however i figure the place to be will soon be the Bundesliga, football in germany is on the up, with sellout crowds guaranteed, terracing, and the cheapest top flight football you'll ever find, im feeling the italian league will be replaced by bundesliga in terms of popularity and importance for a player to make a name for themselves

and I wouldn't call Inter a crap team - they just can't handle their success, which means they'll be in another scandal within a year or three.

See above. Paper talk. And all denied by barcelona of course.

I never said otherwise but it was doing the rounds both here and in Spain for at least a fortnight in late May to early June. Of course Barcelona would deny it unless it was 100% nailed on, it would have made no sense to admit otherwise when he declared his intention to stay at Arsenal. It would have just made things more awkward with Rikjaard.

I never said Inter were crap, i was comparing Serie A of today, with what it used to be. Serie A will forever be tainted with corruption allegations now.

Agreed. Italian football is not what it once was and the corruption/violence has certainly caused alot of harm to it's reputation. All they have left right now is the names and histories of great clubs like A.C. Milan and Juventus. It wouldn't suprise me to see them turn things around though, it has happened before.

Whichever way you look at it, we are going to be busy in the transfer market again!

garay already signed, Zambrotta going to AC, Alves, Sagnol and Lahm pretty much done and dusted, Fabregas and Drogba pretty close to being finalised, with lampard a posibility and benzama either this year or next.
