United weren't their usual fluid self, but in no way were they dire. They had most chances, most possession, nearly double the amount of passes attempted and the best pass completion rate. It was just the final ball that let them down on occasion and poor finishing.

How did Adebeyor miss that?

Classic Henry finishing at celtic and then up pops the heir apparent to the world player of the year award and current Champions league top scorer Lionel Messi to break scottish hearts. Steven Gerrard, if you were watching, that was a true bona fide world class midfielder.

I must say I wasn't too impressed with the two Milan teams just sitting behind the ball. I'm glad Liverpool handed the smackdown on Inter despite being a United fan as I'll always root for the English teams. However, it must be said that however boring it may be to watch it was perhaps wise tactically for Milan. Arsenal will find it very tough at the San Siro. Last year United's star players buckled under the atmosphere and the question is whether Arsenal's youngsters can step up to the challenge.

I think it was a good result for United, the away goal is very useful and of course with the home advantage in the next leg I think we'll go through. I think Liverpool are capable of defending their lead in Italy and I think they'll go through as well. Arsenal, not so sure. Getting a goal at the San Siro and not conceding will be a mammoth task, I hope they do it though.

Shame for Celtic but Barcelona can do that you. Nothing less than a win at the Camp Nou is a massive ask for the hoops but with the scottish teams you can never completely write them off because they play such blood and thunder football.

United were ok, the 4-5-1 didnt really suit the game but as soon as we switched we were dominant and reduced Lyon to counter attacks. Rooney missed a glorious chance and Scholes could have scored as well but all in all a draw is still a decent result away from home. Lyon have some very good young talent so the second leg is by no means a foregone conclusion.

Arsenal were ok as well, they didn't concede so the tie is still in thier hands but the San Siro can be a very tricky place to go to. Hopefully Arsenal can raise thier game for the return leg and nick a win or scoring draw.

Can see Arsenal beating Milan.

Barcelona will win it again, best team in Europe imo.

I honestly can't see beyond the four English teams at the moment but Barcelona on form are brilliant so you never know, they will need to be better than they have been all this season though.

Who is then?

let me answer your question with a question.

Have you seen Barca play lately? They're not immortal anymore.

Yes, they do have the best players in the world, but that doesn't make them the best team. Certainly not at the moment.

Barcelona have not beaten Chelsea in the CL when Chelsea have had 11 men on the pitch.

Fact ;)

Player for player, barca are head and shoulders above everyone. They are just off form and not clicking. I dont really rate Arsenal to be honest. All the fans are claiming a nil nil home draw against Kaka, Pirlo, nesta and a load of mugs is a good result, but its not. United or chelsea would put this Milan team to the sword. Still 2-3 years off yet for Wengers kids in my opinion.

I really cant decide who I think will win it. The only thing im certain of is an english team wont win it.

I have to agree, Arsenal should not be happy with 0-0 home against Milan. Especially not when you see people here slating Liverpool that are in a similar seat as Milan (under performing in the league).

Im not happy with a nil nil but we were the better team over 90 minutes and with the exception of 2 corners we did not let Millan have any serious chances. We were limp in attack like we are everytime we try 4 - 5 - 1 but i do believe we can get a result be it a win or a score draw.

a friend of mine tried yesteday to convince me this was true due to Grimsby beating someone, who had beaten someone who had beaten someone else who had beaten barnsley, and since they beat liverpool and liverpool beat inter that made grimsby better than inter... i just laughed at him and told him to go eat some cod ;)

Luckily they won't have to :p

It's quite good that none of the ties are forgone by this stage.

Chelsea will have to be on their toes to actually break down Olympiakos (they practically stuck 11 men behind the ball for 90 minutes at home, let alone away!)

Inter haven't lost at the San Siro since last April, granted they need to win by at least 3 it makes for an interesting tie.

United and Arsenal are in pretty much the same situation as Chelsea.
