not sure i agree. the doubt the jury should have is even less doubt than thinking something is "virtually certain". there needs to be so much proof (at least here) that is really no doubt at all.

civil stuff is dealt with on the balance of probabilities. that is what is more probable and who does the judge believe more? in that case the judge can be 49% in doubt and still say youre guilty.

I think thats what he means though - hes saying if they are caught like that, kill 'em, if not, if there is doubt, then lock 'em away.

Hopefully, but even so, i duno. Guess i don't find killing someone for killing very logical.

With "there's always doubt", i don't either. But in most cases there is always doubt. As in, doubt from a pure evidential point of view.

Unless ofcourse there's video evidence or such, pictures etc, but that's kinda like "dick/knife in someone" type.

Ah sorry a few things wrong with what I was talking about before, Firstly it was a resettlement prison, and the recividism rate was at 8% where the rest of the country was at 50% (1999). It's Blantyre house by the way.
