Babs recommended this to me, I quite liked it but oh my god it got me pissed quick. I like Coors, but unfortunately my favourite beer is Budweiser(the american version), I did try Budvar but didn't like it.

Hogaarden and Staropramen are my usual faves when I'm in the pub, Asahi or Michelob at home (but not that Michelob Ultra 'low carb' stuff - its foul). If I can get it, Sam Adams is also v.nice particularly if you can find it on draft.

Got to say I'm amazed anyone drinks Budweiser through choice, and all dutch exported beers are awful, not so much because of the taste but because they all give me stinkin' hangovers.

As for wine, a nice White Burgundy or a Sancerre if I'm feeling flush, and if I want red, South African Stellenbosch Pinotage (although the South Africans keep the good stuff for themselves) or Italian Borolo (but it knocks you out).

Jack D when I'm on the hard stuff and Gin & Tonic when its hot and I don't want a beer. Cocktails are a whole other subject; Mojitos are my current fave.

Have to agree on the staropramen - i'll drink that anywhere i go that has it on tap.

bottled beer at home i'm quite partial to Coopers pale ale at the moment (an aussie beer). At the pub in oz there's fucvk all choice where i live now so it's usually good old VB.

Don't drink spirits unless i'm on a big one and the belly is too full of beer - then i get on the rum and coke which is like alcoholic speed. It sends me a little doolally, and i always feel like i'm coming down from eccy the following day if i've polished off a bottle.

Wines in England I like to drink good french sancerre as well, but here the verdhello is awesome, 1999-2001 is best but even this years is something special. Bimbadgen is my fave verdhello winery at the moment.

moo!

speaking of good beer :)
does anyone know where(if?) i can get Tuborg in this country? i got quite a taste for it whilst i was in Denmark and have not yet found a plaace to get it now i'm home.

Think they only sell it in Denmark.
It's owned by Carlsberg, and they don't want to compete with themselves :)

Penfolds is good red wine -and cheap too boot. I find nothing wrong with Jacobs creek either though :)

Oi Amobea, whats wrong with VB, its lovely stuff :p
I'm not the ugest fan of Bitter
It's not too bad as far as bitter goes though

And personally i reckon Budwieser taste like watered down VB :|

If i'm at a pub with only CUB beer on tap, I'll generally drink Carlton Draught

Give Coopers Sparkling a go, it taste sligtly better, and if you're drinking for intoxification theres nothing better beer wise, it'll put you on your ass no end...
Pale is okay, personally i preffer it off tap to bottled

See if you can find a pub with Squires on tap Natrat, it well worth it if you can find it
