Hmm you are going to get a batch of my opinions (oh boy do I have opinions)

Personally I don't think you could actually do this job without being a player. It is hard enough to answer questions about x y or z when you are familiar with the gameworld and game mechanics I shudder to think what it would be like if you came in basicly blind.

We know the struggle to get to 50 the old fashioned way (before necros animists etc etc) we've got crafters, we know what it's like to be ganked out of nowhere when you walk out of a milegate... we also know what it's like to have ML raids go fubar and miss out getting encounter credit on artis...

One of the reasons I actually even considered applying for this job is because at heart I really like the game... yes it has it's issues but over all I -still- really like the game (when I get time to play it) and I wanted to do something constructive to help the community.

Someone up there asked about realm rank... nope not even close to anything respectable... however it isn't because I don't like RvR it's because I genuinely suck at it so I tend to stick to random wandering wherever I -can- kill things and occasionally provide really easy realm points when I wander out into the frontier.

Why dont EU servers have /appeal option like the US servers? They get live help whenever they want. Ive never seen a GM online, and even if i did, i think he/she would probably just ignore me. You guys are busy doing more important things than listen to us mortals

Humm, I did use /appeal yesterday, so your saying it doesn't work ? Maybe thats the reason why we did not get any respons(Tho we did try use it around 4-5am lastnight.)

We do talk to players. There's usually a GM on the servers every weekday evening and on and off during the day who's just there for players to contact and ask questions of. If you can see us on the server it means we are available to chat to. If we are too busy to talk then we'll be in lurk mode and you won't be able to see us online. do /who 100 to see who's around.

Seems GOA been working on improving the relation to the players alot lately, nice to see to be honest. /clap for that, things have only gotten better since that horrible <shivers> period when a hacker broke loose on the servers. I was very very antiGOA back then due to lack of communication and response in general but overall im a quite happy player today (well, happy with GOA, Mythic is another issue hehe) keep it up!

I have a question aswell.

Mythic has just implemented a new way to detect cheaters, is this something GOA is thinking of implementing as a hotfix? I understand if its too complicated but would be nice if GOA at least could try.

Sure, i work for DELL computers, so i know my way around questions i dont want to answer, i hope i put that right. Sometimes i get really annoying customors asking about their Harddrive, and i send them to their ISP cos they are to dumb to actually work a computer themselves. (Joke)

GOA have posted vacancies on their website several times, so I imagine how they get their personnel is not much different from any other job.

Also a type of music fyi, Goa is a tangent of psytrance which originated around GOA hence the name.

one thing I hope to experience in the near future, would be a goa event, as ive never experienced any.
think the closest thing I ever came to an event, was the animal tamer in mag mell with some huge mobs in a magical barrier.

wasn't a soul around so was up to my imagination what was going on.
went through one of the barriers, and the mob kicked me so hard up where the sun doesnt shine, that I was unable to sit down for weeks.. I guess that's one way of remembering a goa event, but would like a good experience in the future.

If possible, could you announce an upcomming event alittle earlier on the webpage in the future as I always seem to read about the events After they have taken place :<

events *usually* take place on a thursday evening and every 2 weeks (the next one being planned for next thursday on mid). If the background of the event allows it, we'll post some information beforehand, usually thursday afternoon. Sometimes though, there will be no news posted for example when the redcaps attacked Bjarken. As it was a surprise attack we couldn't really go advertising it beforehand. Those annoying npcs that spam you while you wait to port to go rvr also have up-to-date information on events (well they will do soon anyway).

Wow, nice to see that you're taking your time with something like this. I think it's just great to be able to ask the simple questions about small things that you've wondered but never really wanted to bother you with here, and of course, the small chat too..

Now for the questions.

Will we like the people on the US servers enjoy some time of testing out RA's and beeing able to purchase respec stones for a few silver?

When is NF due, and more importantly, what will be needed to run 2 accounts without lagging to death?
