Wasn't Bulletstorm published by EA? If so there's your answer, one of the most hilarious FPS' I've played since Serious Sam. Not a cerebral experience in any way shape or form, but goddamn was it fun.

That's the same kind of statement as "EA only publishes sh*t" though, which isn't true. It -can- go wrong and don't get me wrong i don't like FB at all, as a gamer, developer of games or a human, but still this seems more like a good buy which any company would die for.

What games have you been working on if I may ask?

Finnish games, so nothing major(as rarely major things come out of finnish game industry :p). Transworld snowboarding way back when and the new ridge racer series(unbounded and f2p) are probably the bigger ones.

As long as i don't need a FB account to use Occulus Rift I'm happy with it. Expanding VR tech into social media, conferencing and productivity suits is a good thing in my opinion, otherwise it might end up just as a gaming toy a few enthusiasts play with.
Also lol at all the people who knows EXACTLY what Facebook is going to do with OR... i bet FB have an idea for it but hardly anything set in stone.
oh and lol at the EA hate... sure EA has made a LOT of shitty things, in terms of releases, acquisitions, layoffs, killing projects, milking the industry etc but they also enabled a lot of devs to actually continue to work on the games they love, or release them at all. I would say that EA have taken gaming from a nerd hobby into mainstream, hell, there where even a TV commercial where major NFL players logged on Xbox and played NFL 20xx! Would have loved to see anyone try that in the early -90s.

Facebook gives them the scale they'll need for production, and a route to monetisation for a lot of the developers. As Zuck says, he's interested in VR social spaces, which will come along after the gaming side of things.

What's the big deal? Just disable the feed updates, ignore the giant floating advertisements that intrude on your immersive experience, and get on with gaming?

They've been at it since 2012 or some such though. If there's any lengthy talks of IP, then there's probably some truth to it.

Aye, doubt it'll make a difference though with facebooks near limitless pool of money.

Yeah, it is funny though, facebook money vs zenimax money, basicly fighting over pennies :p

The Rift is cool but tbh we need at least 4K wrap around screens before it can be truly immersive.

You don't need 4k screens when they're an inch away from your eyes.

Yep, the problem isn't with resolution but input lag and frames per second I would imagine.

I wonder if I can shoot people who post baby pictures in the face.

Looking forward to nuclear bomb motorbikes and all the cyberpunk franchises that come with our incoming new world. Maybe I can finally try a CosaNastra pizza delivered in under 30 minutes or expect an apology in person from Uncle Enzo.
