Skill up on the cheap learning skills - learning itself, instant recall, analytical mind etc. Get them to level 2 at least before going in for the big timesinks like lvl 4+ skills. You'll save time in the long run.

indy's are big but without frigate-driving friends to mine for them they take a looooooong time to fill up

Anyways my copr will be moving into a system soon just collecting isk so the new starters can get a flying start
after i buy me some skillz 2nite it's a mining we go for hrs..
And yeah WF without window mode this game could get pretty slow when u 1st start.

Are advanced clones and better ship insurance in yet?

Advanced clones are'nt in yet i beleive neither is ship insurance heh when your ship is destroyed thats what it means

went to pick up my second laser 1 this morning.
after searching around a bit i found the place and a load of jaspite. the moneys gonna role in now =)
only problem is that the security is 0.2. just got my bantum so being careful atm. soon as i spot anything dangerous, i warp asap.

heh i dunno ive joined a corp its more fun really soloing is kinda boring in this game because its absolutely HUGE and sometimes theres no 1 to talk to at all heh.

I looked at EVE but it does not make much sense to me jet. Is there somewhere a page that explains a bit how the skill system works and what you can do with it? WHat you need lasers for, etc What skill you need to do what.
I think you get the picture. Would like to have an idea of what I am starting at.

evenom: No don't think I'm gonna get the retail of eve, not sure yet. Unless your gonna pay me back the 1.5 plat i borrowed you in EVE credidts when I start out j/k. Haven't played EVE in a while now but I mined myself rich in a probe frigate and used it to fund my other characters. Couple of probes working together and you would be surprised what kind of money you can make in a few hours. Great thing about eve is that you can actualy transfer money from one of your characters to the other even when he is at the other side of the galaxy. Linked vaults is something I really miss in Daoc. Whenver you want to transfer an item or cash you need to drag over some ppl to your vault, log out get your other character there etc etc ... Biggest waste of time in the game.
Oh another tip: While you role your first money making character role one in the other character slots aswell and start training on their skills while you mine. By the time you get enough funds to buy something decent you could already have a nice combat specialised character.

Do it corp style. get BP's fast. and if you are going to mine do in in teams... 1 haulers 1-2 gaurds 2-3 miners on arkonite. Mining oomber in a probe is a bit like soloing greens with a 1 dps weapon. Whereas corp style, a good 2-3 hours mining stint can literally yield 30+ million isk.

And Corps are not the only way to go in the game. I am one of the many Freelancers, I have read some of the corperation web sites and they looked more like a realy company than a in game one. A few will even give you a exam to complete, and I know of one person with a PHD in maths and she failed.
Maybe latter on but Corperations are not for me as of yet.

Well... It can't be more boring than DAoC. I've played DAoC for a year now, and I don't see that it has anything else to offer to me. SC'ing effectively ruined the desire to hunt for new and better items. I know that a few drops off the Epic Mobs are a bit better than SC'd drops, but tbh. I don't think it's worth it to consider. Too many people needed to kill the Bosses, so chances of you getting the item you want is slim.
The only thing to do in DAoC for me now is RvR, and that's even more boring. Zergs killed that aspect of the game too. I know that oncein a while you have some good fights, but mostly it's kill/get killed, repeat/rinse. And the downtime you have sitting on the pad waiting for port is about 50% of the playtime when RvRing.
I'm going to play Eve. No matter how tedious it is, it cannot be worse than this. I've had great fun in DAoC, but there's nothing left for me to do, except kill some of the mobs that I haven't killed yet. And that doesn't sound appealing to me. So... Buhbye!

Sorry to hear it Fangri, though this is an RvR game and since you never seem(ed) to enjoy RvR, I'm not surprised you're off.... there's really not a great deal of PvE content.
