Ronaldo deserved to have his head ripped off, he had no reason to get involved and went running to the ref. Personally there would have been half a dozen yellow cards to portugese players there because it had previously been ruled that you should not crowd a referee or try to convince them to book another player.

Rooney couldnt do much about where his foot was, the twat had his legs wrapped around rooneys foot... all i can see it is for the push on ronaldo

How much do you follow football? More to the point how much do you follow the rulings that referees are SUPPOSED to abide by?

He went to the referee for one reason, try to force him to give a card. He has no position to do that, he isnt even the captain of the team. A referee is there to make decisions and players need to learn to leave them to it. Notice how the English didnt do that at all? It is a very European thing to do and for England to progress the only way is going to be by becoming as lame as the rest of the world. Previous italian players have stated they are told to dive and act if it will bring them victory. Argentina players in past have stated just recently that in their country such acts are praised because in their mind being sly and stealthy is better then being hard workers.

THe game is a shambles and letting players try and get to the ref (who already stated he prefers portugal and shouldnt been there anyways) just makes it worse. I can think of a few sending offs that have come BECAUSE of this action. The ref clearly gave a foul, wasnt going to bring out the card but due to players crowding him he then books or sends them off.

England put up a good fight considering what they had to deal with.... just pissed off yet again it a penalty shootout. One day we may win it. Think that is 5th in major championship had, and the 5th we lost. I now hope Brazil go on to win. Was looking forward to interesting semi final but with them portugese in it then it be shit.
