Hey all. Long time. :)

Im trying to create a DVD for my sister for a client which she kinda ended up dropping on me. The brief was to sharpen the video (which I have since done on after effects) and re-author the DVD.

The sharpening wasn't a problem. Now I have been using my macbook for a little while now but I have never come across so many issues in regards to getting this done. I have tried a few programs with no success and am willing to jump onto my HTPC just to get this done and not drop her in the shit.

Basically I have a .mov file which I have sharpened. I also have a .wav file (the soundtrack), which I want to run alongside it and I also have a .psd file which is the play again menu graphic. I am tearing my hair out with Adobe Encore, iDVD, iMovie as they are all either a: crashing or b: me being thick or c: compressing the movie file to garbage quality.

I have been out of PC land for a while now, since selling my main computer 8 months ago and have loved my MacBook up till now.

Can someone kindly reconmend a simple quick program for me to do all of this? I just want the resolution/quality to be exactly the same as the .mov I am using and add a play again button. I hope you guys still remember me ;)

I swear by SVCD2DVD, gets any file format over to DVD in exactly the manner you want. It's a tenner in our money but it was good enough for me to actually buy it. I'm sure there's a trial to have a look at.

Moo Kryt.

Been putting this off for ages and its deadline tomorrow so....

Ill find a 'trial' version im sure. The file is standard DVD resolution but the original file looks crap on a tv. Finding the tradeoff between good on PC monitor and good on TV was hard but they OK'd the file, now I just need to author the DVD. Which is more of a pain in the ass than I thought it would be. Everything I tried so far decides to make my sharpened file look crap again.

I've been using AVS Video Tools for a while now, converts any format, has a nice one-shot DVD ripper, and burns DVDs too, perfect for conversion so I can use my Palm Tungsten, worth every cent.
