Well, not giving the bow up for lotto would be the same as political suicide.
No heavy longbows, no imbued armor / bows / meleewpns, no chance to ever get in a guild, etc etc.

To be honest im not that bothered about aussie gettin the bow. Im not to sure what the chances of us atualy killing the bugger and it droping are but i imagen its not a dead sert. And he is actualy puttin this raid together and seems to be going to lead it. he has also taken alot of abuse for this and will take alot more abuse while the raid it going on from us albs.

He of couse is one of few scouts out that actualy rvrs regularly (most of the time im in emain i see him) so has the rps to put it to full use. And last but not least there will hopefully be more of these raids if all goes well, so there will hopfuly be more bows for the rest of us scouts.

Nice going aussie.
I try and explain why you are not likely to keep the bow for yourself, as someone claimed you would. You answer by flaming.

Had you bothered you would see that 2 weeks ago I made 40K rp - is that enough to be eligible for the bow?
Or is 100K or 200K?
How about making a limit of 1 mil rp for joining the raid at all.

Ooooooh now i'm flaming.... it's b/c you are flaming and whining all the time i have put it into the lotto again.
btw, tell me when was the last time you made 40k in 1 week.

if you don't agree, you simply vote with your feet and don't go along.

so far this is pretty much how it happens in hib.. otherwise no-one would be arsed to do a raid every few days.. why go through the hassle of organising a few hundred people, pm spam, zerg lag, link deads, late people, only for a small chance you'll get an item?

I totaly agree with you :)

Edit: I wouldnt have the heart to take the bow if the organizer REALY wants it this much.

Can we go back to this one point :

You will have a level 50 Infil checking HW?

And....?

So by the time the Infil spots the army of Hippies and Middies running along with one of our relics in hand we are going to do what exactly? Suicide on the dragon back to our bind point in Ludlow, horsey to Sausage, port to wherever, only to find we are too late to save it? Good plan..

normally hib/mids are at 2e door when we find out..... now we'll spot them at HW and you're saying we'll be late

No they wouldnt and thats exactly why its a good system. They dont need the xp and they sure as hell dont need the "thrill" of killing Legion for the n-th time either. An RR5+ drop belongs in the hands of someone who can use it to its full potential not someone who is busily lvling 3 alts and got bored of thier armsman the moment they picked up thier epic armour.

An example: Alpha should get the next Legion slash sword that drops. But who will get it? Some lucky SOB who prolly plays 1hr rvr a week. An utter waste.

why the fuss

why the fuss...

items......
drops.....

first thing, how many will be there. I will try to join with a full group.
When to drops , i gave my opinion in a former thread, that became the biggest flaming thread i have read, Ironfart the prat, lol, i love the name.

first of all, EVERYBODY would love one of those drops. Cause they wont be harvested that frequently.

I say we all should give aussie a go in organizing this Hunt and help him out here. 200 PPl is a lot of ppl

tactics were explained, nice once, even by , odyseus i guess, not sure, with the waves etc...

The problem is and will allways be, what with those drops.
i would even like that bow, even if i can't use it, just to put it in my vault, nice piece to have, status symbol, hehe.
I'm not in favour of that lotterie thing as i already said in that other thread.
but if its the only way u ppl think it can be done, i would follow it. And hope i get lucky, there is a 1/200 chance i will get a drop, wooohoo.
YEK, i hate the thaught, but if this is the way to go, i rest my case.

if i would have a rep (positive one) and the knowledge of "respected" ppl in here, i would try to organize it also, but no i haven't got either. I would just make an auction, create a lvl1 character, log him in Excalibur. (doesn't have to be me with that character). And drop all the cash in there that ppl eagerly spend on those items. OK the first few times, wealthy guild will be priveledged maybe, but their cashflow isn't unlimited.
All ppl could do a bid on it for starters, then highest bid is declared, and then one can bid more if interested. OK maybe rediciclous prices will flow, but thats the whole point, cash is foolsgold yes, but is limited.
When sold, the cash would not go back to those wealthy guild, all in one character that will give it to a person that comes to that character with wood to repair, eg gates, so that person does not have to waste his money useless, and he can get an item instead of it (indirectly i mean) . The craftskills of the ppl would be used for the better of the realm not on their own expence. (i hope i got my point her, not english tho i try.) Who sets up those would transfers is not my problem, that is for ppl that have the time and skills to do it. Just PM that character , whoever it may be, ur going for repairs, show the wood , get the cash, repair, and move on.
it might not sound perfect cause, one could show the would get cash and run off with da wood, lol, thats true, nothing u can do about it, ppl always have the tendency to misuse a system or be a " criminal", hehe, >>>joke, no offence meant.
Not that hard.
Ok it is possible that that person would not be on line atm when needed, distribute the cash over some ppl that are trustworthy enough and willing to log there, so there allways will be someone on line then. Some ppl have a good rep here, So this must be possible, or maybe the organizers of these special hunt could keep the cash for all i care, if they are willing to be the "realm bankers"

AND THIS IS JUST MY IDEA, DID OR DO NOT WANT TO GET FLAMED CAUSE I SPEAK MY MIND. I DO ORGANISE THING NOT ON A LARGE SCALE, BUT I DID DO KEEPRETAKE, DID DO REPAIRS,DID IT ALL, MAYBE NOT ON RESPECTED PPL'S WATCH cause mostly i love roleplaying a lonesome wandering wizard.
SO PLS dont flame me again, lol, not that i have problems with flames, but i like to speak out my mind, for better or worse. Reactions allways classefy ppl, not suggestion , as a wise man once said.

look forward to hearing from ya and remember, i can live with the lotterie system, but maybeeeeeee............

Errr, having an infi or two in HW, watching the portal keeps/milegates, then reporting if there's more than a couple of groups come through = 200 people getting to Excalibur before the invaders even reach there.

(Please, make sure you are always bound at Cotswold/Ludlow/Prydwen Bridge)

I think the guilds that put most effort in defending the realm and retaking OUR keeps should be #1 priority in the eventual lotto. I'll might hike along, not to get drops but to participate on the event, succes or not :). Trying to kill the dragon can't be anything other than fun.

Might up end in chaos, and Aussie. If i does, don't go yell on all albs on how big of morons they were :).

Huh, most RP = gets bow? woot :) I won't favourize anyone, and i would turn down the bow myself. BUT the scout who DOES put most effort in DEFENDING the realm should get the bow, not the one who farms most rp. Who this is, i have no clue.

again, nobody will come if drops go to Top RP player / Crafters / Honoured players etc..

everyone has ~12(drops)/~200(ppl) % chance to get a drop. That's shitloads more then buying a ticket for the national lottory.

Why not lotto it among the top ten scouts? I always kind of thought this is how drops should be done: lotto among the top ten of any class/es that can use.

I guess we will end up using the same system as always but it annoyed me when i saw some infil wandering around trying to swap the friar robe that his guild won after a legion raid.

Dragon also drop the ONLY 100% 3.0sec 16.5dps Friar staff in game :)

exactly, let him get his bow if you albs can do it (again...). i think its fair that if u take the time to organise it you can atleast get somthing, and with him claming it now, noone can say they didnt know that it wasnt being lottod or somthing (all remember aragorne and his LW hammer on hib?).

now go kill the bugger! :)

I got nothing to do with this and albion but seriously give the guy a break, i know how much it takes to get something like this going, i know how much shit he goes through, you really should be glad that you have someone that organises stuff in your realm. Maybe he is not the most popular guy but who cares, i would come anyways if ppl tell me that i wont get a drop. Sure i might not get glad and all that crap, but its the dragon and i'll tell it again, getting groups organised for something like this is NOT easy and you SHOULD help ppl that do these kind of stuff.

Let him have the bow, go there kill your dragon, enjoy the night, forget about the drops for a second, i can assure you thats the last thing u will think about from the second you see the dragon. It will be great fun.

Just my 2 cents.

hell yer lets go kill the dragon

it aint more than 3-4 (maybe more) weeks ago i organized a dragon raid with khalen and i didnt claim any drop, its equal for all guilds to get a drop, its not like me or Khalen pick a drop before we kill the dragon, we organized that event coz its fun, not coz of drops, i cant use the bloody bow, and i have nice stuff on my chars, so u ask why do i organize stuff like this, well i can tell you, its coz i want to make event for my guild and for Albion.

and tbh its not that hard to organize a dragon raid, i must admit i was a bit scared before ppl began to come to Cornwall station, but i had made my macros and makeing the groups and the attack on the dragon went smoothly :) (only went wrong coz of the dragons aoe breath)

too bad we failed on the dragon though, one reason i was not inviteing unguilded persons was the incident with Hobbit on the succesful raid on Golenstandt, wouldnt like to see that again.

dont plan a raid on the dragon for the items, plan it for the challenge or coz u want to help ur realm.

Best regards

And since there arent enough RR5+ people to kill the dragon on their own how to you intend to encourage sufficient numbers to turn up to have any chance at all of success?

Try thinking before you post - before you put half the realm off of the idea of turning up for such raids. That wouldnt help anyone at all.

Because alot ppl asked me how we are gonna beat the dragon..
I will explain here how it will be done... hope it gives you all a bit more confidence we will beat that dragon =)

As I have told before. I want to see +200ppl in Cornwall...
I will cancel when i only see 199 so it's IMPORTANT to put /anon off...
reason why: there are other ppl that won't participate in Cornwall too.

When we arrive, everyone makes his group.
Groupleader pm me this:

Groupleadername - membername -membername - membername ...
then I will give you an invite to /cg chat. I don't want a Guildname or other info.
Everything will be logged, I'll put the list of the participating groups/players online after Raid.
I also want 2 FG of clerics(rejuv plz) with 1 minstrel in each group.

Alb_dartmoor.jpg

that's the plan of the lair.
We will split the army in 2 parts:

-the first ~12 groupleaders in /cg will approach the dragon from spot A
-the last ~12 groupleaders in /cg will approach the dragon from spot C
-My group will approach the dragon first from spot B... hoping to get the AE flames on us..
-Casters leave their group (not disband) and will wait at spot C
till the 2 zergs have attacked the Dragon. that's when the casters approach the dragon. Make sure you spread as much as possible. power regens slow, I don't wanna loose you =(

-2 cleric groups stay away from the charging zergs.
I suggest Tiarta becomes leader of first clericgroup and joins the zerg at spot A
and the other cleric group leaded by Herbal that will rez at spot C

For those that recognise this tactic.... yes it's not mine ;p
Albion did it like this on Galahad US server... the dragon died in 20 secs.
For those who wanna read it : http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=37022771&replies=34

edit: Casters, make sure all tanks are haste/EB buffed when you move to spot C.
I will repeat this again in /cg for the groupleaders, no need to learn this boring stuff T_T
