Do it yourself and then report again nob. Oh and don't choose the easy tailor one, no no, go weapon, armour or fletching...

Have fun...

hmm so about 2 - 2.5 plat getting to 800 tailor/metalwork

then make about 4 plat in 3 hours salvaging and trinketing the crap drops from barrows (about 5 backpacks of metal crap stuff) which i had anyway from pleving.

and then theres df stuff when you aint got your own drops to salvage:

bought 150 diamond seals (1.5 plat), which is 10 longswords at 100 asterite bars each sword, trinket and sell at just about 2.2g per bar so thats 1000 bars*2.2g = 2200g so thats a profit of about 700g and not a single mob killed.

do 450 seals and you make 2.1 plat profit - and you've payed for training up your skill already.

Lol, being Legendary WC I kinda know that ;-)

But I was speaking moneywise mate, and there Fletching, WC and AC are all round the 17 plat mark to reach 1000.

Tailor is 7 Plat, and can be done wherever you please...

Oh and Moo, you're only talking cash, don't forget the time to get to 1000 (and the fact that higher tier materials were only available in Excal or Beno a few patches ago, go figure.

Firstly I'd like to point out that you are not talking about crafters here, you are talking about trinketers. There's a huge difference between someone who only takes up crafting to get the metalwork for trinketting and someone who actually makes stuff.

Okay, so you spent say 12 (?) hours plevelling in the barrows to get a vault full of stuff worth 4 plat when trinketted up, taking a further 3 hours to do this.

So either you do it yourself and make 4plat, or you pay someone a percentage to do it for you, and you get 3plat (for your time killing the mobs), he gets 1plat (for the 3 hours he's got to sit at the forge).

The same goes with seals. A trinketer takes a percentage of their value for the time it'll take him to trinket the stuff.

450 seals is 6 hours of solid trinketting for that 2plat, the guy who had the sels walked away with 4.5plat for his time hunting (plus the cash/sell-loot drops, plus the exp)

1 plat for 3 hours trinketing? Hmmmm theres better ways to make more gold in that time.

Salvaging diamond seals was worthwhile for profit before SI. Now its for the 800 metalskill hinge-bots only. The profit from salvaging tier 10 materials (which will be used to make stuff, not hinged) is far better.

I resent being called a hinge-bot ;)
Can't deny it, of course. Can trinket up to & including netherium, but arcanium is beyond me. Atm I have made approximately 7p from trinketing the various asterite-salvage drops from PLing a char from 43->46. And no, that's NOT counting non-salvagable drops. I've spent that. :p

well then the crafers should stop crafting and only trinket, as thats the only way they get money. Besides they spend hours making the MP item for you and then you give them back the cost off it?:) Sorry but i doubt any crafter wouldnt want some kind off reward for it back and generally helping out your realm is a reward, but not big enough to do something boring like crafting.

exactly... which is why I (generally) stopped doing that aaaages ago. The only trinketting I do now is netherium stuff gathered from my own powerlevelling (or occasionally do asterite+ stuff for guildies if they have a load of crap to get rid of). The arcanium goes into weapons I make, but really it doesn't go very far. 40 bars of arcanium needed per attempt at a level 51 weapon, so over 200 arcanium per 99%, etc.

Anyway, powerlevelling a char 1-50 (in the right places, not Barrows, ffs) you'll get ~10-15plat in cash and merchant loot, and about the same again in salvagable loot.

Which for lazy crafters who really cant be bothered making much these days (ie ME) is a very good thing. I can use up salvaged arcanium very quickly without spending hours at that damn forge.

I would fall into this category... then occasionally I get pursuaded to make a MP weapon thinking there's a reasonable chance the 1k arcanium I have in my vault would get me through it.... Then 5 hours and 10k arcanium later it finally pops out and I now have 3 vaults full of bloody 99% weapons again

my point is that if Moo wants any nice stuff made for him, he better pay with a profit. As they spend alot of time on it. Besides as it is now the prices for crafting are already low and he wants them even lower?:p Which would mean there would be no crafter around, as you dont get anything back for it anymore :). So thats what i meant.

Well by all means start to craft immediately. Your skill doesn't actually go to 800 in a day or 2, if it takes as long as armorcrafting, be prepared for nice long crafting sessions.
