Discussion - does price/labels really matter for clothes?

No really I am feeling good in what you wear is a massive hit to your confidence, if you feel you look good you feel good. Depending on what group your in, the opposite sex will more times than not take notice of someone that carries themselves well, this includes what you are wearing.

I am confused a lot of you are speaking about designer labels as if every item is has some name stitched and printed all over the items. This is not the case. My jeans have one name tagged on them at the back just like every other pair of jeans, yet at £160 pound they are slightly more expensive than others.

I suppose its like work clothes, I have friends that only wear shirts from Primark for work at £7 pound a shirt you cannot be robbed, I however would not wear a shirt like this. Not because I a snob, but because I prefer to buy fitted shirts, mostly from Zara which I find very reasonably priced between £25 and £40 pounds. For those noobs out there, a fitted shirt gives the wearer more definition, they are closer around your chest and stomach. A lot smarter as well in my opinion.

But you are buying the shirt because it fits well and it is well made presumably. You are not buying the shirt solely because its an xyz. People who buy clothes just because it was made by xyz are the silly ones.

Well for jeans I more less always buy Pellepelle or Wrungdivision as they always got that really baggyeffect I like. Don't buy 'em because of the label but for the fit. If I could get a noname par of jeans with the same fit I would take the cheapest option.
Tshirts I just wear whatever I find. Might be a 5year old southpark tshirt or some random shit. I do have a few expensive shirts for going out, Burburry and hugo boss.
Shoes is either nike sneakers or DC. I carefully pick what shoes to wear as I hate crappy shoes.

Tough one, at the end of the day some people really do just have more sense of style, whether they are at the front (buying something totally different to anyone else) or someone who sees someone wearing something totally different on someone else that really suits them and thinks hmm that would look good on me (being a follower of fashion).

People have the desire to fit in, even the people that go against this (Goths, Emos) they all end up looking the same as their close friends.

Its a bit shallow to say that people xyz who buy a Diesel t-shirt are retarded. regardless of how much money you make you will always find things to spend it on, the more you get the more expensive your taste becomes. I spend on average about 200 pounds every month on myself, now in 3 weeks when my first child is due that will surely change. However I am a believer of spending what you make It would be wrong of me not to treat myself.

Oh, and personally I only wear designer clothes (Hugo Boss/Armani). I like looks and the quality, even though some of the popular Boss labels (orange mainly) and Armani labels (Armani Jeans) are severely lacking in this area. I think clothing has turned into some sort of a hobby for me cause I don't wear them to show off or anything; as a rule I don't wear clothes which holds these mega Boss/Armani prints, I really prefer the more 'incognito' stuff

As people said before me, if you can afford the shit and like wearing it, go ahead. I just though I'd give my statement to show that wearing label clothes does not necessarily link up to showing off (if anyone felt that way to begin with )

Not waving my penis around, people spend what they want, normal people spend what they can afford. But for someone that chooses to not spend alot it is also wrong to judge me because I choose to spend more.

I doubt I would find a pair of jeans in the officers club but that is more about the design and style of jeans rather than quality or cost. I own 4 pairs of Jeans one of those is a pair of Diesel, I have had these for 4 years, £160 pound over 4 years is a decent investment and I will be surprised if I don't have them for another few years.

I like spending a bit more money on some labels that I know that I can rely on. Labelled clothes is most of the time better quality than the stuff you pay less for and if tears apart you can just go get a new pair of jeans or whatever you bought with no questions asked. Also it seems to fit better as it's not made for everyone

I wear labelled clothes all the way.. Underwear, t-shirts, hoodies, pants etc.. Closest I get to labelled socks is Nike tho

i like jeans from gap. i always have, they fit well, they last, and they aren't ridiculously unreasonable at £50-60. trainers and shoes, i always put up the money for decent ones that will last. you learn from mistakes with uncomfortable, disintegrating shoes. the last pair of trainers i bought was i think £80, merrell but they will last a long time and they are comfy.
tops, jackets, whatever else - if i like it, i buy it. i'm not gonna get all funny because its not got a label or it has got a label, if it looks good then its mine. though what annoys me is M&S don't sell decent looking mens clothes (unless you are 45+) - the quality is brilliant!
