Kobold usually takes 20 minutes per pound, in a moderate/hot oven. In the field, spit roasting also works, though the meat must be basted regularly as dry Kobold is quite tough and hard to digest. There isn't much meat in the legs / arms, due to their short length, and the colouration of the meat can put a few off their dinner. Don't be put off, however, since the Kobold, once properly cooked, is a delicacy of the highest order.

As an aside, there has been some confusion about the acceptability of vegetarian sausages within the Phoenix Legion. I'd like to settle the matter right now: vegetarian sausages are welcomed within our ranks. We make them from only the finest minced vegetarians, with a careful selection of herbs, spices and a hint of rusk to help them bind properly.

There's nothing like taking a hostile keep, and sitting around a roaring fire, a Kobold turning slowly on the spit, and the vegetarian sausages sizzling away.

As to our noble leader being a 'sausage jockey'? Pish! For a start, I've never seen a sausage big enough to hold a saddle, and they certainly can't gallop anywhere, having no legs.

The only predominantly vegetarian popluation being naturalist classes in Hibernia and them already having relatively low population on Prydwen, you guys must be careful not to overharvest! May I suggest a replacement for the main ingredient in these sausages? There are several species of carnivorous trees in all three of the realms. The taste of these, lets be honest, is less than exquisite but as a resource they are easily renewable and have remarkably high protein content.

So, instead of ”have a sausage”, ”bite a tree” ;)

Many thanks to Osmo for detailing the recipes, and to Ottar, the Professor, for his input, although it would seem he is finally losing it being undercover in enemy territory for quite such a long time.
