Anyone playing this game atm? It is best described as:

"Die2Nite is a post-apocalyptic browser game where you must join together with 39 other human players to stay alive as long as possible. Once you die, you move onto another game, where you try to last longer than before. The average game time takes 4 days."

It's quite good fun, can be a little frustrating at times. If anyone's already playing it, or wants to give it a go - I'm in a coalition with a mate (means we join the same town together) which helps as you can be that little bit more organised. I'm playing under the name "Nocode".

Lol, if you haven't got any food/water to restock your AP you can put out a call for help (town forum post and flag your map location) and see if someone can bring you something.

If you've already consumed food/drink that day, then the only chance you've got is someone bringing you some drugs - but there's always a chance you will become 'hooked' and become a burden on the town.

Ofc, there's a good chance if your town isn't friendly/helpful they will leave you out in the cold until the zombie hordes descend tonight to eat your braaiins

I'm currently dead, and the other guy in the coalition (the leader, guy called 'Temper') is going to peg it tonight as well - so if we want to all join the same town you need to be in a 'ready' state - which basically means if you're currently in a town now, you will need to suicide - otherwise you have to wait until the leader dies and rejoins another town.

If you're stranded outside you should get munched by the zombies that evening when the hordes descend upon the town.

I've asked Temper to hold-off joining any towns for now, so we will wait until we get a good group of us together and we're all 'ready' then we will join somewhere.

If you've got any other questions just shout or read the wiki - I've only been playing a week, so by no means an expert though

From what I remember, you need to do something to accept/confirm your death. I think there's a screen where you can enter your last comments to the town etc. Just as long as you don't agree to join a new town you will be fine.

I think you need to do something, because when I look at the coalition screen it says you are 'unavailable' and still registered as being in 'Paralysed prairie of bloodlust'.

Do you need to play it everyday? i.e weekends too?

If not, im up for it as long as its not a time consumption hole

in theory you do need to play every day but missing the odd day isnt going to be fatal, just make sure you're inside. BTW there is a website that works well on android/iphone at /m

/edit- you dont need to play MUCH every day either, maybe 20 mins and the odd bit of flaming on the forum.

Yep, Chilly's right. Ideally you need to play everyday, otherwise you're wasting valuable action points (AP) you can contribute to the town.

Basically, every day you start with 6 AP. An AP allows you to perform an action like move 1 map square (if outside town), or contribute to building something for the town (e.g. a workshop, or town defences) which might be say 50 AP collectively for the town.

You can eat and drink, which each restore 6 AP - but you might not do these each day if supplies are low and being rationed. You can also take drugs and drink alcohol (rare) which restore another 6 AP each but these are risky as you could become hooked etc. So in theory you've got between 6 to 24/30 AP you can use, generally 6-18 AP (without drugs/alcohol).

You can go out during the day and scavenge for supplies/resources to help construction in the town - but there's always the risk of being trapped by zombies and needing to be rescued by townmates. This doesn't take too much time because you generally put yourself in a square outside town and leaving him 'auto-searching' all day, bring what you find back inside before the zombie hordes descend. Otherwise, you could just login for 5-10 mins a day, read the forums - see what needs to be built and spend all your AP on that, then log-off again.

So it's not really a time-hog tbh. However, it is nice to have active players. I tend to find myself in towns where ppl join the town, are active on day-1 and go outside but either forget to get themselves safely back inside that night (so they get munched by zombies) or just don't log back in on day 2/3 to drink water etc so they die of dehydration.

Wtf, sorry guys - there seems to be a coalition limit of 5! It says nothing about a limit on the coalition help page here.

It's let me send out invites to more than 5 ppl, but now 5 have joined it's stopping me from sending invites :-/ Bah!

I done a bit of research and apparently ppl create 'meta-coalitions' where they string together a number of 5 player coalitions and get them to join the same town together - which perhaps we could do?

Edit: In the coalition I'm in, we've got: Me, Temper, Chilly, Saveh and MysticG.

Perhaps someone can setup another coalition with: VaeFH, DaveNate, dysfunction, Teedles and Eszencia/TaB?

If we get anymore interest, we can create a 3rd coalition etc. Then we can coordinate via here with regards to when we join a new town and what town that is etc. Would obviously need to join a town with a low population so there's room for the other coalitions to join etc.
