Fred has cancer

When this guy passes away, it will be probably the only time I've felt sad about the passing of any celebrity (except Freddy Mercury). I blame him for sparking a personal interest in all things Victorian in me. Sad news.

yeah he's a great character full of life even at his age, from what I gather he's had it for a while but I thibk it's over with really. Combating cancer with guiness and oranges, however, may just work :)

I watched his programs on steam, and general Victorian stuff, and also that one where he sank a mine shaft in his back yard and got into trouble with the council. Right good laugh that.

There are too few people like Fred Dibnah in this world imo, the salt of the earth, hard working country's backbone type of person who cheerfully does his job with skills passed down by experts just like themselves.

Good luck Fred, I hope you pull through in good health. I wish you well.

Absolutely fantastic, down to earth, genuine guy. Knowing what his character is like I am certain he'll be fighting it all the way... Go Fred!

Met the guy.
He was on a train that I was on, sat opposite me. He kept us all amused for the journey pointing out stuff as we travelling through Manchester/Lancashire, "I'll being dropping that chimney soon" "there used to be...." etc.
Quality guy.
