WithMass Effect 3just released, gamers who were fortunate enough to have the time to have finished the game already may have wondered what is next for the master storytellers at Bioware.
That suspicion has been somewhat confirmed today. The Baldur’s Gate website changed a number of weeks ago, and has now been replaced with a countdown clock counting down to tomorrow afternoon.
Whatever is going to happen, we will know soon.
The webpage also details some clues – if the page source is viewed, commented out are the following lines.

Speculation seems to suggest that at the very least, Baldur’s Gate 3 will use a brand new engine.

Baldur’s Gate was Bioware’s second game, published in 1998, known for it’s adoption of the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition ruleset, and started a revival of video role playing games. It was succeeded by an expansion pack, a sequel and a spin-off series.

Isn't there a high definition patch for d2 that isn't supported? That looked pretty nice tbh. Or is it out of date now? It's a shame they don't do that officially, Blizzard isn't such a great company all the fanbois like to make it out to be, in that aspect.

The d3 no pvp thing is well known btw, not a rumour. PCG had an article about it http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/03/12/diablo-3-pvp-mode-to-be-added-in-post-launch-patch/ I liked how the author seemed to make this good news somehow..

The game will be fun in any case. I'd suggest waiting for the pvp to be added, might even be cheaper to buy by the time they do

As for Baldurs gate. Not overly excited to be honest. It is Bioware, under EA after all, their recent games haven't exactly been amazing have they?

Not writing it off ofc because I loved the first ones...I might actually dig them out this weekend as the wife is away, quite fancy a bit of nostalgia. I am getting a bit fed up with the lack of depth and the overall shortness of modern games.

All I know is they made it un-modable and I think I read that you couldn't play it on a LAN, though that's not really an issue as everyone can just connect to the internet anyway.

To be honest the DRM thing doesn't bother me mostly because if it's online all the time then that's the same shit anyway. The one that concerns me is the "real cash" aspect, eventually people will realise that virtual items have no fucking worth whatsoever.
