just to say that I am in total agreement with Will here. sadly I messed up by getting angry, but less-serious-tdc is back in full effect now.

i didnt intent to offend anyone with my post, as for an inappropriate part of the thread to post my comment, well, i was answering the person who started the thread.

I've never had depression, but like most people, get down now and then. Wish I had some answers - one of our friends has been on tablets for depression for years and it certainly seems like something that's extremely difficult to overcome. I'd recommend getting some regular exercise, as this is pretty much regarded by most proffesionals (and most people I believe) to help considerably with depression. The warmer, drier seasons are on their way, so why not buy a cheap bicycle. Use it to cycle to school, college, work and/or get out on a ride at the weekend, in the countryside if possible - jump on a train with it if need be. If that's not your bag, and you feel upto meeting others, why not some kind of team game where you will meet others too, like badminton, squash, 5-a-side football, a walking group .... the list goes on. Just getting out and about will make you feel better, but most of all the buzz you get from exercise will really make you feel good, believe it or not!
Sure, it's not gonna solve all your problems, but I guarantee for most it will help.

on a serious note

Some things that are proven to help with depression:

Regular exercise
Adding oily fish to your diet (sardines, herring, salmon - NOT canned tuna)
The occasional chocolate
Increased social activity, ie: get out more.

With the last one, if you're like me then you're a forced extrovert. Example is, if theres some party going on I'll not want to go because it's 'effort', but I know that if I do go I'll enjoy it once im there, and feel good about having been later.

now kids we have the ingredients. Next step is to put all the above into a bowl mix it up. shove it in the bin for a few weeks and wallah we have chilly. you can do it 2!
