I usually sympathise with mental ilnesses but I have to side (mostly) with throdmonster here.

The day I stopped being depressed was the day I got off my fat arse, stopped playing so many computer games and left the house. I swear it's a miracle cure.

I will be releasing a series of get get well books soon that only contain 2 words. Here is a preview:

Overweight? ... 'Eat Less'

Depressed? ... 'Do more'

Gay? ... 'Hi Trem' (wub you)

The thing is, there are people who are totally self-indulgent in their depression - but a lot of people have felt self-indulgent, snapped out of it and now assume it applies to anyone with depression. As with so much in life, it's rarely as simple as that.
