2 hours on the phone to dell's indian tech support..

when u know what the problem is, but they won't listen to me.

i want to scream at then. THE ONBOARD NETWORK CARD IS BROKEN, KINDLY SEND ME A NEW LAPTOP.

if dante was writing today satan would be a call center manager and the helpdesk his little minions.

I'm guessing he didn't, but most big IT firms seem to be out-sourcing a lot of their support to Inida because it's cheap.

dell outsource their helldesk to india..


in other news it's only taken them 3 1/2 hours to come to the same conclusion that took me 5 minutes and they're sending me a new mobo.

i'm going to scream when i get off this phone.

The numbers are local or national UK numbers, just redirected. It's still cost effective for DELL even with the added comms costs.

Yaruar m8, when my lappys sound card packed in all i did was send an email, got a reply, answered some questions then they sent a courier round, took it away swapped the mobo and some random bit of plastic and had it back within 4 days, no indians involved....although the guy who emailed me seemed to be cutting and pasting from a long list of standard sentences, there seemed to be no flow to what he was saying and he repeated himself several times, was very odd. Got the job done tho. Email next time, tis free an easier

I hate all these Indian helpdesks. I always seem to get stuck with some waldo who can't speak English. :(

I would but i need a quick response time and even with the time on the phone i had a new mobo this morning at 9am.

Although saying that i'm getting my account manager to change our support agreement to a higher one for free because of this, and he will if he wants to keep the 50k+ i spend with them every year.

The joys of having £100k+ a year budget is that although tech support may not listen, the people up top do ;)

hehe yeah i did some work exp for a company near oxford who spent an obscene amount with dell, well over 100k i should imagine, all servers workstations. Was so fun ording form them for the company, you ring and the guy is your slave :D Fuck tech support, just summon the techies with spare parts a plenty to come and service ur box.
