Let the shade and inf wajn commence! Soon sb's will be nerfed to oblivion again, due to Mythic caving in to the masses of wajn :p

PH must be bugged since its working like that for midgard only right?

Seems DaoC is going more and more WoWish with identical abilities/skills on all counterpart classes.

Which is if you ask me has been daocs little advantage over other games

oh well I dont play stealther anyway so :D

It's not really a bug, I imagine Mythic created Phoebus Harp, and thought, only classes that will use this are (but we can let everyone use it) Bard/Mincer and Skald, wait hmm, wth does a Skald need this for. Ok lets give him a WH charge.

Little while later, someone realises this means every class in Midgard can get a WH charge from this necky. Its not a bug, but it was definetly unintended, they should change the WH proc back to a summon harp for all classes bar Skald. Still should let all middies use the necklace, just like all albs/hibs can, though nobody will use it, but just for the sake of it :p

It was made like that as a /use2 for skalds who would have no use for the harp, the fact other classes can use was an oversight but since there hasn't been enough whine mythic haven't fixed it yet.

I dont see any problems with a skald using it. low defence at it is. to be quite fair. Since minstrel has ablative n all that.

But its really overpowered in stealth wars.

heh no whine sbs deserve some love consider all the crying they been doing last 3 years :D, though just cause they get some new abilites doesnt mean they become uber ^^ for some sbs it will be great to get remedy/melee enchancement/cl´s/increase damage. but tbh for most it will do nothing they will still be shit ^^

I dont have a problem with sb's being overpowert abit because the ppl who has stuck with the sb's really need some love so let them have the bloody /use 2

As long as they don't even out the LA damage "decrease" it's alright. IF they however feel like doing so they need to make offhand swingrate a variable.

To get things clear about Phoebus harp.

From the beginning it summoned a harp for the skald aswell. But considering the skald have no use for a harp they changed it to Winged helm /use2. Now consider Phoebus Harp is open for every class but for partial use for everyone except bard/minstrel (no use for harp) when they changed PH for mids all classes got to use the /use2 ability.

My guess is they are gonna change PH to skald/bard/minstrel only.

Now if they get rid of Phoebus Harp, I think Shadowblades are very much fine

roughly translated. SB are gonna rip the shit out of NS when this change goes in.

So much for unique classes specific RA's.... Rather than balance the NS ability and whack on 15 mins timer or summin... they give it to all assasins and make it only work on poisons...

Its a good job this game isnt balanced on 1v1 and only on Mass RVR.

The spells the NS has been given in compensation for the SB HP and INF 2.5, are all unusable apart from insta DD... NS has actually gone backwards with this patch. SB has been given some insane shit. (insta crush lol)

Not possible, I think. Perhaps they can make it so that the /use2 only works for Skalds (like the L10 ability of Croc Tear Ring works only for some classes), but I know lots of non-Skalds who have been using PH in their templates for a long time. Simply removing also the partial use for these classes would break too much stuff.

Hardly, if PH gets removed, and I htink it should and it probably will. Then it will be pretty even I think.

I reckon the reason they just gave it to everyone as a rr5, instead of a purchaseable ra, was fear of screwing up balance again with each having a difirent ability. And if they had removed all the rr5's then assasins would complain, so this was the easy solution to avoid screwing over one assasin by giving him a weaker ra, while also leaving them with some sort of rr5.

I cant really compare with INF 2.5, but I think wyrd used to say that due to composite spec, if you throw the extra points an inf gets into DW, you will come out with roughly an extra 4-5% of damage over time.

The Shadowblade hp bonus is 5%, yes thats right, sounds big dont it?
Lets assume a NS has 2000 hp, that means a SB with equal ammount of hp before the bonus, will have 2100hp after the bonus. Whats the NS insta DD do? about 60damage? Thats pretty close, he may also get to use it twice, making it pretty equal.

Lets not also forget that the SB, because of his bonus, loses more HP from envenerating, because his extra hp comes from extra hp per con, and not simply additive hps.

Meaning in my opinion, DDs = Extra hp = 2.5x

I cant belive your crying about the Crush ability SB's are getting. Wow welcome to the world of the SB, physical weapon damage that you are weak too, we get ours on an impresive 5 min timer, 30 sec duration. Yours is permanent. Just means SB's can have equally good templates as Slash infs/ns now, and not be screwed by armor tables (every 5 mins for 30seconds).

NS still have some nice advantages, they got the best styles in my opinion. A side stun every NS can afford to get, a DF at lvl 25 spec. Still the best armor tables, and more accessability to uber items, which can easily be ignored, but templates make a massive difference.

Overcompensated imo, that's a lot of new toys, and a pretty nasty one to come up against now :p

But as Melachi said either give PH to all stealthers or none at all, then it'll be even ;)

So,
Nicole the Nightshade have 120 cookies.
Steven the Shadowblade have 80 cookies.

Martin the Developer gives Steven 40 cookies so he now have 120 cookies.

Now Nicole is suddenly nerfed and gone "backwards".

Riiight!

(I hope you got the picture Cenci, otherwise discuss it over with someone that may understand it. And please notice the added attempt at an insult by picking a girls name for the Nightshade in a world promoting masculine properties).

PH is overrated - I only actually use it on tanks. Against stealthers - it's hard to fit in as more important timers come first like AF, SoM, Battler2, Malice2, SL etc.

From looking at what is happening to stealthers over these new patches, I think Infils will hit like a truck even more, and it is going to be harder to kill them. NS's will be pretty much the same (as they had all the tools before hand) so they are still tough, and SB's are coming up on par now.

So unless you have used PH, stop whining about it. It would be a shame to lose it, but the only real thing stealther wise where it is useful is if stealther number 2 comes in to PA you, you would get most of that blocked. But like I said earlier, it's hard to use the ability because of all the other timers - but it is a nice bonus to have when SoM is down or Scalars is down.

And on top of everything, the stats on PH are ludicrously crap :>

I had PH in a template. Leveled it to lvl3, noticed it was not worth it and changed template.

look at the numbers a Slash-NS/Infils gets against a SB, because that's what you're going to be hit for if this goes live :)

Guess the Hibernian Frontier will turn into Marshlands, with all those crying lurikeens and elphs!

but I guess it'll be half a year or more until this comes to europe.

Actually Martin the Developer clearly gave Steven at LEAST 60 cookies in this patch, thus putting him undeniably ahead of Nicole, I think that was Censi's point :p SBs are by no means as far ahead of NSs as they were previuosly behind, but I don't think anyone can deny that SBs will now have the upper hand in a small way at least.

Agreed, but all that most people are after is the /use2 restriction, and they could easily make that if they want.

On a class level, sb's will in 1.82 be just around infil/ns's. On a general level, they are still behind in my oppinion.

Still some disparities on the general level:

- Buffbot disparity (spec af/haste)
- Off-evade stun (less of an issue with the 3sec reactionary change)
- Side stun (for hibs)
- Stealth support (Minstrels)
- HP advantage arguable not living up to 2.5spec or less so the NS magic.

All in all though, I think these are great improvements to Shadowblades. Personally I don't think all the issues have been fixed. It's a great leap towards that goal though.

Regarding the PHN:
For all I care, take it away from SBs or give it to Infils and NSs. It should be made equal in the first place. Personally I wouldn't use the PHN. Simply too low utility on it, on a class that really struggles to fit in 5 lines and 3-4 stats plus decent resists.

Just been reading through VN, and it's funny to see how everyone thinks Sb's will be zomgwtfpwn top-of-the-foodchain-all-the-time.

Theres a RUT on these abilities for a reason, people will rely on these as excuses if they lose. Bludgeon is the next remedy if it goes live the way it is :p

i think the changes are a bit overdone, but im not complaining. ns' have become sooo fotm the past ~half year or so its annoying :(

much more fun if theres only a handful out, and fights are always hard :D and anyways, ns might get a lot of love in the next part of the patch, who knows really?
