Well as I had someone attack me ingame today over taking creatine, I thought I would vent my anger here as I cba talking to an idiot. So if you read this you'll see i'm right you ****!
The story with creatine is that it's fucking awesome. Also, it is not a drug, it won't damage your kidneys, drain your brain out through your ass or cause you to go bald. And if anyone makes any one of the aforementioned claims, then they're a fucking idiot and shouldn't be listened to. And that's a scientific fact. Practically any power athlete who medalled in the '92 games gobbled creatine, Linford Christie to name afew.
Another scientific fact is that creatine works. It's part of the phosphocreatine energy system in your cells. The creatine phosphate system is involved in high intensity output lasting up to 20 seconds (or there abouts) so for sprinters and all power athletes, it's fucking awesome. Also, it acts as a buffer to lactic acid, so it can even help endurance athletes. It also acts as a spatial and temporal buffer of ATP concentration. Phosphocreatine plays a particularly important role in tissues that have high, fluctuating energy demands such as muscle and brain, so it could make you smarter.
There's been a few studies done that show it to completely safe, at least in the short term, Robinson et al., 2000, so don't buy any of that bull crap about it damaging your kidneys..it all stems from a test for kidney function that doctors use, which uses a breakdown product of creatine metabolism to measure how well your kidneys are working.
Your body makes creatine naturally so creatinine is always present..if your kidneys are fucked, then the level of creatinine, a waste product, will increase in your blood, as it isn't being cleared. Now, when you start taking creatine, your levels of creatinine will go up, NOT because your kidneys are fucked, but because you're taking more creatine. It's a false positive when creatine users test positive for kidney damage. Furthermore, it's a logical fallacy, and a symptom of fucking idiocy, to suggest that creatine is causing kidney damage.
Never mind this talk that creatine isn't absorbed, that all the muscle bulk is from 'water-retention' etc. The people that say these things aren't biochemists..they're fucking idiots, and if they disagree, I'll crush them with my creatine pumped, super-muscles!
Yes, creatine causes water retention (its actually absorbed into your cells bonded to a water molecule) but it's intra-cellular water retention, which is a good thing. INTER-cellular water retention is what gives women's arses cellulite and doesn't improve athletic performance.
A fully hydrated cell is mechanically stronger and also exhibits an increased rate of protein synthesis due to osmotic pressure..both good things, I'll find you'll agree.
Also, creatine is readily bioavailable, something like 95 %, so fuck the non-creatine using begrudgers..the *****.
My final point is this. DRINK WATER LIKE FUCK
End of story really. Think I covered important points there. So your wrong shit noob!
