Nibbler, in #wij, comes in and says "COCKBADGERS", so he is banned. Dimebag immediately trys to join and his autoban kicks in so he is banned. Mank then straight after tries to join, another person from #wij, and after some rubbish types "COCKBADGERS" and quits.

And people wonder why we can no longer be bothered with some of the so called "forum regulars"?

Yes, that was posted whilst I was copying my irc log in to show that I was making things up, despite Kippa's selective editing of his log.

And i find it hard to believe mank wasn't involved or aware of what Nibbler did considering he used the exact same word and the quick succession from Nibblers join / ban to mank's join (nobody actually spoke in the channel in the time period).

It is a real shame it has come to this, after all many of the people who seem to enjoy acting like tits are those who would be the first to chastise a newbie or a DAoC'er who posted in here.

What is happening here?

How can one word spoken in irc merit a ban from these forums?

I have never caused any problems here, or invited trouble in any way, and have been supportive of the general idea to clean up this place a bit, and give some people a kick up the arse but should we really all have to watch every single word we say?

BF, could I ask why the mods are going for such a confrontation approach at the moment? I mean, (and I've said this elsewhere too so sorry) it seems that you want to make an impact, sure, but surely people should be given a chance to adhere to the new rules? Or did Wij say something specific?

I concede, I do have a knack for missing people getting banned and the cause disappears when I come back...

I'm purely interested to know why you are doing it this way? Surely you can see that it is enflaming the situation?

I support the idea of having T&C by the way, and I'm all for stopping newbie bashing, but what made you decide to enforce it this way?
