I have not been at BW for very long. But when I joined I enjoyed the anarchistic feel to it.

I was certainly attacked quite regularly for quite a long time (mainly due to the utter crap I posted). This has stopped probably due to me being on everyone's ignore list now.
I still enjoyed coming here.

Things have certainly calmed down a lot in the short time I have been a member here.

I do not agree with the bannings to date....except for maybe Dimebag...

I think these bannings were only done to set an example. To make a loud statement that extreme anarchistic tendancies will no longer be tolerated.

Its sad that commercialism is being a wet blanket but unfortunately this is the way of the world and the only way is to accept the new regime or move elsewhere.

Hop their bans aren't permanent. Perp may act like an arse when he goes off on one, but then so do most people that post here, me included.

He used to be a very helpful chappy round here when I first joined these forums.

.cage is irrelevent and sometimes funny, hope he does come back sometime.

I suppose rasicsm is line that shouldnt be crossed though.

This place has only become so hard line because the regulars all wanted it this way, if people didnt moan about others doing exactly what they were then we would still be living in chaotic bliss.

I had no problem with either Dime or Perp, but if you push the limits expect to get banned I guess. I missed both the incidents so can't comment on the images.


Cage getting banned just brightened my day up. In a kind of "someone please stop me laughing because I can't breath" kinda way. Some people will dig their own graves because they are just fucking dumb.

While I'm not going to get into whether that post should have/shouldn't have been edited, surely if moderators are going to be more active in these forums then they need to employ an element of subtlety?

I mean, I read down this thread just now having not seen Bodhi's original post (someone quoted it later on though) but editing posts like that to pass on messages is *very* confrontational. When Barrysworld and GAME want to reduce aggression surely they should lead with a mature moderating policy/method?

Would it not have been better - regardless of what was in the post - to have removed the post and Private Messaged Bodhi to tell him so?

Moderator messages in posts just scream for a "Rah Facists!"-type reaction from some people. It draws attention - of course it does - so people will comment (or flame) when they see it. I hope this still manages to get in before they start.

I am assuming the current form of moderating is being done so blatently obvious so that people do take notice.

It looks to me as though they are stamping there mark and making examples of what is and isnt acceptable.

Once the forum settles down into a sedate mood in the new regime then the moderators wont be so noticable.

For what it's worth, I'm more of a reader than a poster. I like the "lawlessness" and "anarchistic" feel of the place. There's something to be said for self-regulation and less nanny-state aspects. Some people do have the concerns over the pack-like tendancies that appear every now and then. Still, we're all big boys and girls no doubt.
