When going to the pub was possible I left my (correct) details each time, total contacts from Track and Trace was zero, and no one Ive been in close contact with has tested positive to my knowledge. So in line with the law, I have not isolated at any point.

Hope that clears up any confusion. Not sure why you're bringing other people into your petty hair splitting. Seems a bit off?

Your recent posts can be very much read as 'I am flaunting the rules and am now coming to Freddyshouse to brag about it'.

Which is why I can understand why Scouse is getting wound up.

Jebus, you lot really don't need @Job at all do you?
I am fucking fuming. I've not seen my children since March 2020 as I decided they needed their mother in their support bubbles more than me, that meant I cut them off from me. When the UK relaxed the rules I stuck by my beliefs that I could be carrying the virus and would not expose them. Christmas Day was spent alone. My new grand daughter was born and spent 2 weeks in ICU. My grandchildren have not seen me since March 2020 due to my instinct to protect them. I have not seen my new beautiful granddaughter as I put their safety before my desires.
This is why you're a champ @Deebs all that and you keep this place alive off your own back. I sincerely hope you have plenty of nice pictures of the new addition to act as a temporary workaround until you get to see her.

It was the start of a thread - expanded above. But yeah, I can see why you thought that.

But now you know why I was harping on about belief, rather than evidence. And it changes the complexion a little, no?

Bodhi has been laisses faire about covid since minute one. I think every bit of his attitude is worthy of proper questioning. Especially given what he said above.

I was just winding up for an argument ;)

It was why I agreed with Wij because arguing over if he has had covid or not just gets silly.

This.

Most of us are doing everything we can to self isolate. Deebs hasn't seen his new granddaughter. My mum's probably not got long left - at least mentally, even if she hobbles on.

I've no time for giving passes to people who flaunt shit. Even if it's just talk.

Oh and to add I have a new grand daughter who was born in December who I have not seen in the flesh yet to do me following the rules.

Seriously fuck off @Scouse and not bring me into your discussions.

Same boat, not seen my first grand daughter that was born a week ago. Luckily managed to see my Son back in Dec, I took a gamble that we were going to get a serious lockdown and drove up to see them, did have to go through zombie territory though, but I have a big diesel tank and shotguns on the roof !!!!!

Despite being allowed to go due to matching low tiers, my wife has been testing the lateral flow test twice a week for well over a month now so pretty confident we didnt have it.

I'm not holding out much hope of seeing them in the flesh until Q2 or maybe H2 this year.

Thank fuck for video conferencing and my wife isnt in charge of that !!!.

Well, the fevers broke. I still have a strange sense of taste and smell, my dry cough has turned into a chesty flemmy type thing, triggered when I lie the wrong way.
The Boss Lady has tested positive and the daughter has started a cough so she gets tested in the morning.

Here's an annoying thing for you.
My Lady is a care worker so I haven't had contact with anyone out of our support bubble (My wife, daughter, mother in law) and one person in office who does the office visits on the same rotation as me. He has no symptoms but it self isolating.

So apart from those 4 people I have had no contact with anyone except the following human being.

I was out on the bike on Thursday of last week, (first symptoms following Monday) was on a trail and some moron stepped out in front of me and I wiped him out and myself with I hit him. This is the only other human I have any contact with in months that aren't in my bubble.

I'll just leave this here....its from the Sun, who knows if its true or not.

Reading through it, it's actually quite sad how these fringe forums/groups can have such a massive effect on people and in this case, lead to their death. Makes you wonder how deep our resident nutter is :/

Where were you? A footpath or trail centre or summat?

I've seen families walking on clearly marked trail centre bike paths and been given shit for riding legally on bridleways but in general I've never even gotten remotely close - other than to a guy on Snowdon who saw me coming and ran about fifteen feet to deliberately block my way. (I felt like lamping him - it was dangerous).

Oh. And one obviously mental guy in the Peak district who did similar.

(Both cases I smiled and apologised - I don't want to give wankers excuses to hate cyclists more :) )

Oh do fuck off, jesus.

Let's ignore all the staff that have to stay with the royals instead of their families. Yes yes yes.

Imagine if William said 'We're moving into Buckingham Palace to look after grandma during lockdown and we're letting the staff go home'

That would have been amazing for his PR as eventual king.

It's not people disobeying that's the main source:

Would not be surprised if most offices were not Covid-Secure considering the number of complaints. Since the first lockdown my Company banned office work unless critical like control rooms. Even now if I wanted to go into the office I have to book a slot and wait for it to be authorised. Then there are strict guidelines to be followed once on site.

Well, if people are going into the office when they can quite happily work from home, then they are disobeying the clear instructions. There are few cunts at work that do it, which makes the few times I do need to pop into the office, to sign something or whatever a pain in the arse. All you get out of them is "waaah but I don't like working from home" neither do I ffs. The novelty wore off in June.

Managements job is to enforce that.

My sister's kid is being forced into the office when she could work from home.

Then her boss is breaking the law and should be reported as such.

Agree. As are your senior management allowing employees to come in just because.

Hers is a tiny enough company that it would potentially mean sackings going on (for "other reasons" of course).

The reality outside of big corporates (who stand to take a reputational hit if being seen to do the wrong thing) is a shitshow.

I mean, look at the clusterfuck that is the DVLA?!

It's right there in the contract, dated 26th August 2020!

"WHEREAS, as part of that scale-up, AstraZeneca has committed to use its Best Reasonable Efforts (as defined below) to build capacity to manufacture 300 million Doses of the Vaccine, at no profit and no loss to AstraZeneca, at the total cost currently estimated to be Euros for distribution within the EU (the “Initial Europe Doses”), with an option for the Commission, acting on behalf of the Participating Member States, to order an additional 100 million Doses (the “Optional Doses”). "

Production will have hickups, that need ironing out, if they had got it started months ago like we did they would not be in this mess.

And they STILL haven't authorised it's use anyway ffs.

Complete and utter fuckup by EU leadership. How they have the brass neck to claim otherwise is actually astounding. It's on par with Tory shenanigans.

Instead of whinging about their own incompetence they should be pouring the money they spent months quibbling about into getting production up and running.

Anything interesting, or is it simply that they both have different interpretations of what something means.

I said it in the brexit thread a long while ago people seem to have some badly rose tinted glasses on when it comes to our government being unique for its screw ups, attitude, etc. we aren't alone and we never will be because that is the nature of government.

I mean have you ever looked at Ursula von der Leyen's twitter page, she is always having her picture taking holding a phone or doing some other PR spin in the same way Boris Johnson looks like a complete tool as he toddles around a research facility like yesterday.

This is really interesting, it states that the UK is in the EU, incorrect, but let's keep that there for now. The EC demand that doses from the UK plants be directed to EU. AZ says it cannot. Now, reading that, if AZ cannot deliver then the EC can offer alternative plants in the EU to fix the shortfall. I am wondering if the comment Pascal made the other day about UK plants being used once UK doses have been delivered is in the AZ-UK contract. Will keep reading.

Going to get interesting over the next few hours/days.

The other thing I really don't get is if the EMA comes out and advises the AZ vaccine only be used on under 65s then why are they rushing to get it, to the extent of possibly wanting doses from the UK sites which again might reduce the UK supply of vaccines which we do use on the most vulnerable.

That would be projection on your part. Other than some clumsy terminology, I was simply discussing my experience of a bug that another member has.

I'll also have you know that I have pretty much been compliant the whole way through this (I may have gone for two walks in one day in April). I haven't seen my Nan since her 98th birthday (she's now 99), I've seen my family once since we went for a curry in October, haven't seen my mates since September and haven't been near the office since March, or abroad since February last year. All whilst supporting the wife who had 3 deaths in the family last year (none due to COVID, but 2 due to the restrictions) and having to convince a couple of friends that ending it all due to lack of future is not the way forwards.

So forgive me if I focus on both the disease itself and the collateral damage caused by the restrictions. Just because I don't agree with them, doesn't mean I'm not following them. I don't agree with instant bans for going over 100 on the motorway, or banning smoking in pubs (should be a choice), but that doesn't mean I drive at 130 everywhere and spark up in Wetherspoons now does it?
