Wonder if this variant will get going in other countries.

For those countries that feel that masks violate their 4121232th amendment rights (You know who you are), of course, those that can comprehend the most of basic of instructions, it shouldnt be a problem.

Ummm, it has always been (despite me now thinking that they dont have a fucking clue) that they will following the science (mostly). In my view they were at least 2-3 weeks behind the curve on this one, The hospitals are pretty fucked down here, all because they didnt make a decision. And STILL have not made masks outdoors compulsory.

I know a couple of head teachers down this way and they have had plans for pretty much any outcome since April last year. Sure its annoying but it shouldn't be a surprise.

For some organisations it seems to be the first they have heard of CV19. Most of these types of tweets I see are politically loaded.

Wife's school has shut. Can't wait to have her ask me if I want a cup of tea every 10 minutes when I am balls deep in year end.

I think she would take great satisfaction in doing so.

I truly hope she does !!

Although with his 2-3 golf courses up there, I wonder if he gets to claim furlough for them since I seem to recall him saying..

I liked the title that came with it, COVID20 - The Empire Strikes Back
View attachment 43494

It's coming home, it's coming home it's coming, COVID's coming home.

Anyway, Hi! Took some time off over Xmas - just reviewing what I've missed. It would appear @Job is still a loon, @Scouse has turned into a warmonger who wants to wipe one of the most prosperous nations off the map and leave one of the major world religions without a home (Ooooh Jeremy Cor-byn), and old member has returned and suggested some useless stuff (facemasks outside? Srsly? They barely work inside, outside has a breeze to take nasty germs away), and the rest of you look like you're still hiding behind the couch.

Oh, and COVID is now effectively an endemic winter virus which ain't going anywhere, lockdowns still don't work in any demonstrable capacity to justify the absolute carnage they cause, COVID Hoaxers/the 5G mob are still retards, hospitals are struggling because of a lack of capacity due to staff isolation/COVID policies and not increase in patients, Ivermectin looks like a promising treatment and mixing a dose of each vaccine as was suggested last week would be utter lunacy. A lot of our problems could be solved if we just cut off Wales and let it float out to sea, Keir Starmer still looks like he is an hour late for his morning poo, bacon is awesome and it still looks like smoking is a great way to keep you out of hospital with COVID.

Plus, most of you are still wrong.

There, up to speed. How are we all? :)

It can still be prosperous. But it doesn't have to be an institutionally racist fuckhole sitting there with impunity, poisoning the well. And sky fairies don't need a "home" - they just need worshippers, and nobody is saying anything about them.

Welcome back :)

Come to think of it I wonder if that is why we have had a permanent testing facility for a few weeks now.

Fucksake, surrounded by virus here

Fixed it for you.

Blaming infections on people not following the rules is incredibly dodgy imo. Considering the amount of infections that come from Care Homes and Hospitals, the extension of that thought is that carers and NHS staff aren't following the rules either.

Virus gonna virus, and the less we victim-blame people for getting ill the easier the tail end of this nightmare will be.

Awesome news on the Oxford vaccine!

100% effective against death! Not even Jesus managed that.

However this does mean that after getting your shot we all have to meet up one to one on a Scottish heath and have a sword fight to the death, until only one remains.

I'll be the Scotsman playing a Spaniard, do we have any Frenchies to play the Scotsman?

Shame that they're not following the science. It might stop you dying of covid for a month, but after that it's all just guesswork :(

Local Welsh Tory chairman Gareth Baines resigns after tweeting this about German hospitals.

“A&Es in Germany aren’t full of fat mums in pot noodle stained leggings/pjs taking their kids for a day out at A&E to harvest Facebook likes because their darling little snot covered ASBO fell over”, he wrote, adding “Happy New Year”.

Just clarified on bbc. None of the vaccines have been tested / certified for use in children.

If you are working from home, how are we finding it. Do you think you could go back to the office humdrum or happy with the remote working?

Until Lockdown #1 I was in the office maybe 1-2 days a week and working from home for the rest. For me not much change other than having the house full which poses it's own challenges. One bored 1st year Uni Student + One bored first year high school student + one wife who is out to work at 4.30 to be home at 11.00 (who despite her best efforts, is like a heard of elephants in mating season in the early hours) + one doggo who is used to having a nap with Alpha at lunch time and that 'Quality Time' has now gone. :)

One thing I have found is that the psychological barriers of specific times have now gone. Pre lock down there was a lot more 'respect' for things like lunch times and end of the working day. Now it is just a free for all on 'Important Team's Call's'. I dunno, maybe it's on me to set more boundaries, turn teams off etc.

I just don't I could get into the whole office-working now. This whole shitshow happened at the "right" time for me (Weird saying that??) due to my baby being born premature in February, if he kept on until his due date in April I likely will not have been able to be at the hospital all the time nor be at the birth - But as an aside to this it mean't that as I have been homeworking right from the very beginning I have been able to stay home and offer any momentary support during my work shift.

Sure my work has been minorly impacted by this but they need not know - Thankfully I was always above expected performance so it has straightened out now I guess...

Even though I lived a 5 minute drive from work, I always left for work early to catch up on anything I needed to... That has been completely eradicated now. I moved to a different team during all of this and I have never met my new manager in person and I only speak to a select few people from my work now on WhatsApp, so socially it has been impactful but not really arsed on that. I have been offered a new role within the company which has been accepted though I don't know if this will be a requirement to go back in to work since it can be about handling monetary requests - Which even though I am home working securely, it doesn't sit within GDPR I suspect. But that's an assumption and it may not be a requirement to me.

In the beginning work had a load of issues with the remote access' more due to the less savvy people. Which 9/10 typically mean't that I had unavoidable work to do while others got off Scott-free. But that too has been improved quite significantly.
