Yep. Everything seems to be blown out of proportion if it happens to be done by an England supporter. Like the Greek fans celebrating their win in the streets of Portugal - waving flags at cars driving past etc. I could just see it now if England had won, "Poorly behaved England fans provoking trouble in Portugal. FIFA call for ban.". Yeah.

Yeah but the thing is Dill whilst the greeks were flag waving, the english fans would probably craft spears out of the flags and run around harpooning people :/

It's stupid to say that we deserved to conceed 2 goals in 3 minutes in injury time, both from set pieces, just because we decided to defend in the second half.

Was it that I said? If you think that, please read my post again.

Go preach to your own team!

Oh wait, they didn't make it in?

Shame :)

So where am I from again?

Face it, England played shit, and that pissed me off big time, they're capable of playing fun footy, this was shit.

every tourny its a case of england having the skill to go all the way,i even got an interview from becks here on my floor saying how they wont dissapoint and are sure to come away with a result <is that not arrogance>

so before you blag me off as a fucking <insert random country of origin> person think a little

thanks
No, it's confidence, and rightly so.

Neutral? Yeah, right. I bet you're sitting at home QQ'ing because Ireland didn't make the cut. Boo-fucking-hoo.

Fact is, on paper, they do have the skill to go all the way. Just a shame they suck when it comes to the real thing.

Sorry, you were acting as the bitter Scot before you finally admitted where you were from.

Oh well, I'd rather support the other UK teams in a "That was a bad game, sure they'll do better next time" way.

Each to his "They're boring and shite" I suppose :)

i've not liked Rooney in the past, but thought he played really well last night.

England played well and didn't deserve to lose, we were robbed, completely and utterly fucking robbed.

Lol @ the bitter Welsh, Irish and Scots. One day you might actually be able to qualify for a major competition and then you might know what it's like to lose against a good team for a change.

Makes me laugh how Italy have played how England did last night almost every game for as long as I can remember and when England do it everyone jumps on the 'boring football' bandwagon. Give it a rest you fucknuts - as long as it gets the points in the bag, which it almost did, who gives a fuck what it looks like.

Difference being Italy can defend with class and don't look like a rabbit caught in headlights of an oncoming wagon. England last night resorted to just booting the ball as far upfield as they could and then watched it keep coming back at them - that is not cultured defending, thats just shitting it and hoping you can keep em away from scoring for as long as possible - no-one held the ball up and the movement down the flanks disappeared altogether - thats where the trouble started.
Rooney is a different matter, I don't disagree the talent the lad has got but if you are going to come deep to pick the ball up, you should at least do something with it - watch the match again and try and spot a single pass Rooney made to Owen - he didnt. If Rooney wanted to come deep and become a playmaker with it, then he should make plays and not just lump around until someone takes the ball from him - other than the penalty (which if he had squared to Vassel then this thread wouldnt exist probably other than for gloating) Rooneys actual contribution to the game was poor (granted Owens was worse but then he needs someone to feed the ball into him and Rooney wasnt doing that).
Scholes is a waste of time for England out on the right, the lad cant hit a barn door at the moment and isnt right footed, why he doesnt play Bridge at left back and Cole on the left side - who can bomb on forward but also knows how to defend the left flank better than Scholes , I will never know.
Heskey - hahahahahahahaha is about all that can be said for him
Rest of the squad did o.k but as most DAOC players know - unless you have a proper L33t set-up group you are never gonna be FOTM and wtfpwn.
England is the equivalent of 1 Friar, 2 Necro's, 1 Arms, 1 Theurg, 2 Scouts and a Infi at times. (though Rooney looks like a mini-troll)

Face it England , you have been nerfed by the almighty Sven 1.01 patch !

What? Our defense was a brick wall until Heskey gave away the free kick. I can't remember one moment when I really thought the French were going to break through and score. They were resorting to howlers from outside of the area ffs.

And btw, the DAoC references just added so much weight to your argument.

omg did you actually watch the england game?

Lets start with Italy. Having just watched the first 20 minutes vs denmark who arent exactly a world class team, Italy's defence was shocking. But I guess thats what you get for not having any fit defenders or defenders under 35 for that matter. Back to the england game...

Rooney was outstanding and anyone who knows the smallest bit about football would be able to see that. He ran the french ragged, held the ball up like Shearer does, and had the French defence scared to bits. Before he walked off when subbed he took Thuram back out of his pocket and placed him back on the pitch. The reason he doesnt play Ashley Cole on the left of midfield is because funnily enough Cole isnt a midfielder, he is a defender, get it? Midfielders, regardless of wether they play right wing, center or left wing dont just "bomb forward". Scholes had a bad game, it happens. Zidane did fuck all until the free kick but hes still the best player in the world. On his day Scholes is in the top 5 midfielders in the world and being an Everton fan it pains me to say it.

So before you make any more clueless posts I think you should go and actually watch a game of football.

And wait to see the next game with France in where the opposing team doesnt sit deep to deny Henry/Trezeguet room to run into the corners etc (which they love doing ) and ill put £50 on that fact that Henry/Trezeguet will destroy them THATS why England sat deep and it worked for the whole match, how many shots did you see them make from in the box....?

I love to watch english national pride take it up the arse! :D

Ahh...and the amount of racism directed towards the French today. Just goes to show what a bunch of whiny ***** the english can be when they lose a game...and considering how often that happens you would think they would be used to it by now. :)

In my opinion, we should concentrate on the good things, like England winning the cricket.

A lot of ppl our sayin you didnt deserve to lose. Both french goals were deserved 1 great free kick and a well deserved peno, excellent blunder to give them the penalty. So england did deserve to lose it might be bad to losse in the last few mins but thats football and its cruel. Englands defense were great midfield linked up well but after the first half they never looked like scoring besides rooney's great run into the box. England were beaten in the 2nd half by tryin to defend a 1 goal lead and by the french controlling the game, besides a few half chances the french didnt look like scoring, they were however well incontrol and by the end . Also Talk about barthez's< right spelling......... mabye :D > great save.

Will be intresting to see them now with the swizz.

Unlucky for the football, must say it was a good, hard fought match (although England sitting on a one-goal lead for 45 minutes was always tempting fate against players like Zidane, Henry, Turam, Pires all of who excell at scoring late goals.).
Must say it was a great England performance (one of the best in recent years), Rooney was tenacious, Campbell solid as a rock, Owen did fek all, King played a blinder..even Hargreaves played well (overrated imo, but there you go). If England dont qualify, ill be very surprised.

Now then, to this...

If yer gonna go off topic to make yourself feel better...

All Blacks 36 (or was it 39? i lost count due to fits of laughter) England (the mighty England who fluked the word cup) 3...yes three!

Oh and the cricket....if Black Caps had any of their first choice bowlers fit, or at least one spinner selected (Vetori wasnt selected for some strange reason) ...compare this to a full strength England side...i seriously doubt you would have won the test if the situation was reversed (imagine no Flintoff, no Giles, no Harmison.... etc).

Beating a strong side is an achievement, beating a side with 6 second string players chosen out of an available pool of 12 isnt really anything to crow about.

But i guess if England won a tiddlywinks match against Outer Mongolia everyone would go out and buy Union Jack tiddlywinks and the nation would have a party...IN YOUR FACE OUTER MONGOLIA! ;)
