Could be coincidental but performance is worse for me post patch. My fps is averaging at about 50, dropping frequently to as low as 15 on maps like Jungle.
Few days ago I was managing 50 - 90 fps quite solidly. Disappointing since after the patch before it fixed most issues I had except the stutter.

Mines actually better, fps rarely goes into the red anymore, except at the start of a round. Background sound is fucked up though, and the game still stutters.

I get that. Bring down the console with ` and type /snd_restart

You have to do it at the start of each round but it sorts the sound issue for the most part. It becomes a habit... console, up arrow, console.... every round.

Don't think anyone's found a proper fix for the stuttering yet but it's a right pain in the arse. I also get random freezes for a few seconds every now and then.

It'll mean losing your key config but if you delete your mp and sp config files it should rebuild them. Some people have reported this helping them.

I'm at work now but I think it's programfiles/steam/steamapps/common/call of duty black ops

First thing I tried at the time, sadly didn't make a noticeable difference.

It actually began to behave again a few days ago, though now it's buggering up again. Never had a game as inconsistent.

I load up BlOps and I get anything from 40 to 90fps. That's when it's not stuttering or freezing (which is pretty much most of the time). It's crazy. I just can't understand how it made it out of testing AND why it's still not been fixed so long after release.

yea only benefit is extra custom slots and new emblems/backrounds whooopie or there is the golden gun camo when prestige 14, but seriously who can be arsed to play that much?

Ive not bought it since reading the comments here about performance, I've actually played more MW2 recently and I've yet to be in a dodgy game with hackers or some rubbish. Had even better games on CoD4 getting some really nice scores, so I'll think I'm gunna wait some for bit of a change in how good it runs for now.

hackers are everywhere in cod, spotted a couple in xbox lately lol. A new level 10 no prestige, with golden camo, score of 49-1, mmmmmmk. xD

Certainly seems a lot better. Not perfect or half as smooth as MW2 but certainly playable now. Time to start tweaking

I take it back. Just tried single-player so I could tick it off the list.

It's actually WORSE !

Not just a little. It was only unplayably bad before. Now it barely even moves a second without a second's pause. On any settings.

Not to mention that you can't skip the retarded cutscenes to get into the game to actually try it.

I want my fucking money back you total scum !!!!!

I was worried about buying this due to the threads here but got bored and bought it today from Game. Seems great so far getting 60fps atleast on standard settings and even had a solid score on my first game of domination hehe.
