SB's are overpowered, nerf em. Every mid has an sb alt? Why does not every alb have a scout alt?

Overpowered vs Nerfed to the worst class ingame :).

Come and tell us this sh*t when you (albs) will manage to attack and take a zerg defended keep. With CS.

Well some of you might say that they will never try to attack a well defended keep because you get rp farmed, die a lot, have lag, etc...
I know, that's how you have lost the relics. ;)

/cheer midds for the efforts
/cheer for the dedication of various ppl trying to lead the mid zerg and get it organised
/cheer albs for showing us that owning small group wars isn't everything.

Was a great day for Albion and Midgard. Top defending offence by both realms. Salute

My only comment to my guild was after sitting with <effects none> for hours and at the back of the keep healing and ressing , was a response to

"wow look at all those trebs"

"huh, they have trebs?":p (hadnt moved for ages unless it was to yell for more power)

...SB's don't get TrueSight...

Anyhoo, who really cares? It was an incredible day of RvR.

I was one of those that operated the first wave of trebuchets. I've never actually seen so many siege engines other than rams in one place, or in use. More to the point, I've never had so much fun playing Camelot than I did yesterday.

You win some, you lose some. Corpse summoners are a great idea, providing a good way to get back into the frontiers much faster for the people attacking.

As for the comments about Necromancers - can't stand them myself after being tapped to death once to often, but I'm not going to start whining about them being overpowered/bug abusing/lame - what's the point?

Games are supposed to be fun, right? Start taking it seriously enough to get all wound up on the boards here is a bit...I dunno, obsessive? Everyone that's too busy arguing and flaming and generally being an obnoxious prat should take a minute and look out the window. See those people out there? Look wierd? That's probably because they're not computer generated and trying to kill you. Go talk to them, they might surprise you.

epic battle vs alb on sunday

It was a really fun day. I hope most of you, alb or mid enjoyed it. That sort of epic battle is how I imagined the game would be when I first started playing.

Walking over the hill between blend and nottmore and seeing an army of albs lined up braveheart style is quite a scary sight.

I must say, you necromancers are nasty buggers, while we were still defending blend I dont think there was a single place inside the keep that I could escape from you.

As I mentioned before this day will never be forgotten, and I hope we will see more of these days.

At one time we had around 7-9 trebuchets at Nottmoor covering both left, right and front side of the keep. It was a amazing to see those trebs firing at Nottmoor. This is the idea how you should use siege weapons. I can't recall that I have ever seen trebuchets been used before like that.

And Shadowblades sneaking in to kill the Corpse Summoner while there is 7fg of albs inside Nottmoor.. and timing the attack when the rest of Midgard storming the keep.

This is the way Daoc should be played. Large battles, struggling with siege equipment at keeps and battles in open fields.

What did the Hibs do this sunday between? :)

It was indeed an awe-inspiring sight to ascend the beleaguered ramparts of Nottmoor at early morning with dead and wounded everywhere, and seeing, as the sun rose in the East, the legions of the foul Midgard arrayed beneath us, clustered around great hulking siege machines that looked like huge beasts of war in the morning mist. And to turn around, and see the Albion trebuchets arranged on the courtyard firing with spotters calling the fire on the battlements, raining death and destruction on the vile foe below.

A guard from your keep is killed, 197 enemies in the area!

is what was heard from a BF (owners of the keep).

/who jamt showed 119 Albs. A few more anon.

You outnumbered us almost 2:1 [/B]

No mate, you only used /who to count - we were getting similar numbers to you on our guard reports - eg 189, 190+ etc So it was in the region of 1:1 most of the time and our Zerg probably wasn't as tight as yours in terms of regrouping to face the enemy together (u guys are focussed at one keep)

The numbers were pretty even although varied obviously as different sections died/released/etc.

Was great RvR, the reason we kept zerging the keeps was because we feared a relic raid and most of us are quite happy to sacrifice feeding Albs some RP for saving our relic. In fact I would go so far as to say that attitude is precisely why we have 5 arelics and ALbion has 0. So if you want to crow about us dying repeatedly at your keep, fine, but its us laughing last so far.

Its the first time we have really had to counter a CS Zerg and we learnt lots over the course of the day.

In the end when the call went out on alliance chat for us to all retreat to relics/keeps and wait for Albions to either put up or shut up the action ended pretty fast and nothing came of it.

Obviously this morning we still have all relics and all our keeps back so gratz to Mid for winning the encounter in the end. It is a shame Albs got nothing out of it after putting so much effort in for such a prolonged period - perhaps though having found a sound way to hold a keep with a CS that is an advantage they will manage to convert better in the future.

A nice fat slab of RP though is no doubt some compensation, plus lessons learned, etc all very valuable. Obviously if you were trying to farm RPS you wouldnt have had so large a zerg - you would be roaming in smaller groups trying to get smaller confrontations which really do result in good RvR/Time being made, so we can only assume that it was an attempt to retake Relics.

Was a bit disappointed myself with some of the Mid whining -- "Albs have ruined RvR etc etc"
No. They are just doing their job and this time we ain't crushing them no matter what we throw at them. Nice try Albs.

Anyway commiserations to all ye Albs :) Gratz to Mids and good fun for all of us.

Well 200 albs might not have come out to do battle then, but instead stayed in the keep. Think that would be less fun for everyone.

I also think albs will attack until relics are back. Being at 1.57
still underpowered, gives huge motivation to even the game.

Sorry to break it to you but when guards report a number, they DONT report all enemies in zone but in a much more localised area. So what you are saying would rather be the other way around, you were focused on one keep and we were spread out across the zone (at times).

After almost 12 hours of fighting at this point, me personally and I know several others were none the happier to get to go chill out without constant reports of 150 mids at keep a or b. Relic raid when whole of Midgard was out to play was never on the agenda. Having fun was.

Bit sad to see you priding yourself on an early morning retake, it's not at all unexpected and yep a shame after all the effort holding it. But when the weekend came to it's end we were all aware this was happening, and holding it primetime against Midgards force was the aim, not loosing sleep in the wee hours of the morning. As for who won, I'd say whoever enjoyed this amazing day of RvR. I know it's a bit lame using the "it's not about winning but about having fun" argument, but today honestly it was what mattered. No high goals were made, no effort was put in to achieve something, we all just enjoyed defending our outposts against whatever you could throw against us.

Anyway commiserations to all ye Albs :) Gratz to Mids and good fun for all of us.

Goes both ways guys. Just try to work on that attitude and I'm sure we can find it within ourselves to come crash the party yet another weekend. Before 1.60 that is :/

For a good part of the day it was niether RP farming or RR for most albs I think.
We where there from noon on with +1FG from our guild and where just cracking up at the sights and sounds.
For us and i am sure many others it was just good fun and a new type of rvr.
When standing at Nott during the siege it was an awe iinspireing sight with the catapults and what looked like the whole of Midgard beneath us, AoE effects right left and center.

It was a certainly a day to remember, I had the most fun in daoc for ages.

1) Erm not sure what your point is here mate - think we have our wires crossed. What I was saying was that when we die and release we go to various bind points around the realm, can enter RvR at one of two frontier keeps etc, whereas with a CS you will always come back at the CS - thus uniting your forces more easily. You have 1 regroup point - we have several keeps (frontier or otherwise) that we could regroup at. Not sure what your point is but is it relevant to the point I was making?

Also we were dealing with Hibs (although relatively few - LA always have to get their oar in) and two captured keeps...

Since in my post I do actually make the point that by the sounds of it BOTH sides were getting reports of in the region of 180 enemies from keep guards it sounds like our forces were similarly sized - certainly in the evening

After almost 12 hours of fighting at this point, me personally and I know several others were none the happier to get to go chill out without constant reports of 150 mids at keep a or b. Relic raid when whole of Midgard was out to play was never on the agenda. Having fun was.

2) OK fine - I was just expecting some kind of higher plan for that number of people - I was expecting some alb trick up the sleeve (grab a few more keeps) or perhaps a Relic attempt this morning some time having held the keeps overnight, etc. Mids have already proven that keeps can be held overnight for a next morning Relic Raid - we did it very effectively - I don't think you should take it as a given that you can't do the same if you really put your minds to it.

Also, with a CS and the ability to send Zerg after Zerg to the relic I am a little surprised you didn't try it at least once or twice with the numbers that you had?? Its not like you lose anything for trying since the CS ensures that your force will remain intact and I seriously doubt that mids could manage relic defence AND a retake on the CS keep at the same time. Guess we will have to wait for another weekend to find out :)

Bit sad to see you priding yourself on an early morning retake

3) I am not taking any pride in an early morning keep take - I am just reporting what happened in factual terms - ie I woke up in the morning, the keeps were ours so we obviously won in the end. TBH retaking your own realms' keeps at whatever antisocial time you can has and always will be very common practice for all sides.

If there is any jingoism in there its because I seriously thought when I went to bed last night that I would wake up to see albs with 3 str relics again. The same probably goes for most of the rest of the Middy posters - some over-exuberant relief.

4) Work on that attitude? So that would be the defensive, semi-flamey/sarcastic attitude that you exemplify in your posts and direct towards me? (e.g. "Bit sad...", "I'm sorry to break it to you...", etc)
No thanks - I'll stick to my - I'm in it for the fun attitude. :)

Its cool that Albs just came over to hold the keeps and do no else although that seems to be a rather easy target for around 200 people, even given Mid's rabid defence of the frontier of late? Not really sure how close we got to grabbing the keeps back off you at any point. Felt kinda close a couple of times but then the tide would turn (and hard)... Our guild has held Benowyc for an entire weekend before and that was fun but the fun was derived from the fact that we are a smallish guild and were all mucking in together and were so surprised we managed it. Was it really that much of a challenge to just hold the keep with those numbers? If not, I don't really see where the fun was derived from, maybe thats just a product of being an old fart :)

[EDIT] just read Sibanac's post above - good point - forgot to factor in the "new toys" element of fun :).

We will look forward to hosting more such events for you guys in the future :) Good to see the alb RvR machine united and back up and running though. Hopefully we have learnt enough from pretty much a whole day trying to retake our own keeps that we can be more effective.

My commiserations comment really came from the fact that you held a good advantage all day long but didn't actually achieve anything notable with it (other than the fun at the time). The analogy in my mind at time of writing was of a soccer team having possession for 85% of a game and not scoring. Definitely alot more fun being on the side with all the possession though (and no frustration if you aren't actually trying to score!)

Like I said - good fun for all, nice RvR, just a shame some (from both realms) seem to want to take the whole game so seriously and piss and whine about it all so much.

And we all where there and where not afk (afk ppl loose stick and can not run back :D)

Me personaly do not like this type off massive RvR it should be large but not WAY to large :), i mean like at least 50% of the albs/mids there must have had lag that could not even make them move, but in a way it was fun anyway :|
