I was considering for a moment applying for the job you posted a link to film, but when i saw "temp-contract" the thought of moving to France and losing my job a month or so later filled me with dread..

edit: I have also realised that my spelling was terrible in this post..

Does this mean we can post our guesses to who you were ingame?

You can guess but I still play so I wont say if you're right or not.

Gamah, the beta starts soon. That's when our community begins.

Flim, the new guy was interviewed and offered a job today, he hasn't started yet.

Mey, it's a fixed duration contract (all new starters begin with one) for either 6 or 12 months normally, it's not like a temp contract in the UK. If you speak Spanish and English and want to work in Paris then go for it.

Ah I see, so more of a probation period. May look into it.

Can you tell us how the support will work for WAR? Will it be the same as with DAoC? I've never been to happy with how the support worked for DAoC in EU. Too slow to contact any GM's and way way way to slow patching (My main reason for disliking the EU system). If it will be the same system i wont play EU version of WAR.

In any case, GL with the new job! :)

Been great knowing you both, Xalin, always there to lend a hand, even if you are a fairy (this did worry me some!), but the most helpful GM Ive seen! Stay in touch m8!

Req, you make a great politician, I hear theres vacancy at No10 currently, please apply for it, the only turd whos had an interview so far keeps moving his lips, sure sign hes lying! Thanks for not loosing the plot on FH, how you kept your kewl is amazing, keep it up for WAR, someone like you being a public face for the game is just whats needed.

Its been a pleasure guys, hope to see you in the future!

PS, Im guessing Req is Gamah, brilliant way to throw us all off the scent of his real identity! ;)

Will hardly make a difference if the 100ish from Dyvet decides to play US instead. That's why I'll play EU anyways, for some proper GM-bashing! :p

ive had serious issues with some of things that GOA have done, but to be fair to the GMs they are the face of the company and its not like they run it, or have much say in policy overall.

good luck with new jobs both of you, but why you would want to run the WAR community after your experiences with the enlightened DAOC community are beyond me... your a braver man than me

<snip> i am leaving <snip>

Good luck Req with moving on.

But it does sound lie rats and sinking ship, with you gone and as yo said with little interaction in the forums, i think means the end of the Engish DAOC servers/community.

We may have moaned and plamed at you but at least we knew you were there.

good luck

Funny that noone asked how the new GM team will influence the project to fix dyvet? Will they have to settle in first? Will it mean some negotiations will be started again?

((If Beta invites for War will be earned using some in game events on dyvet, we might see dyvet as a busy place for some time))

Yeah I bet the GOA president is the one behind the suspending of TT and breaking up duelling circles. He just had enough of it! Good luck with warhammer though.

Due to shitty editing timer I couldnt put this in my original post.

When is the community going to hear some good news?

It's a shame many people are waiting for WHO to be the savior and take up what DAoC has left behind but it's run by the same company.

Still it's going to be the only choice for many players who dont want to try playing in the US.

WHERE IS THE FIX FOR DYVET?

goodbye.

And may I suggest to you Requiel to roll a char on the german servers and see how GMs handle things there? I'm sure it will provide you with tons of useful tips on how not to fuck up your server which in turn will aid you in your upcoming Warhammer project.

oh, and I better hope the new GM has a good plan to fix Dyvet cause even though you two bailed out, it don't mean the mess you created disappears with you.

I've never done that and never intend to.

goodbye.

Funnily enough I do confer quite regularly with the German GMs. They sit about 4 yards from my desk. As it happened I discussed the TT incident with them before taking action and the duelling circle thing with them afterwards and in both cases their opinions were the same as mine and they would have acted identically (and regularly do in the case of duelling circles). Feel free to discuss it with one of them on Avalon if you like.

Esselinithia. The GM team didn't negotiate anything regarding Dyvet and the options for it. We put forward our opinions and feedback from the community some months ago and the work is now being done by senior management and our technical teams. Changes at our level don't have any impact on that.

To answer some of the questions about Goa and WAR. This will be a very different project to DAoC. We've learnt a lot of things and have a lot more resources available to us this time around. We also have a much stronger partnership with Mythic for WAR. With DAoC, we were simply licensees, War on the other hand is a much closer arrangement. Our biggest effort for WAR is going to be the community stuff. That's all I'm going to be doing, I'm not going to be a GM or a CSR. All my job will entail is facing the players and working the communities. We want to give English speaking European players more added value for choosing our servers over the US ones and the best way for us to do that is through our community involvement. We intend to match or exceed Mythic at every level of service and we're putting together a very strong team to do that with, - part of that is having a team of people who are solely tasked with making sure we're in touch with the players.
