As a united fan, games against Arsenal always make me nervous, and it's the same with arsenal fans I know. It's hard to call. While I think we will win by one or two tonight, I will be on edge watching this one.

utd did what needed, took the lead and didnt conceed. However should have scored more first half. Some good goalkeeping and a bad miss.

All comes down to can arsenal keep a clean sheet, as if utd score they need at least 3 goals to go through.

I think United copped out a bit, playing the defensive/counter-attacking football at home to a half strength Arsenal.

Although Arsenal need to win by 2 or atleast go a goal up after 90 minutes so not too bad i guess.

You mean as exciting? because i will grant you it was fun to watch but the standard of football is not up to the Premiership. But that was a very good game i like watching the German teams on Sanana its very high paced league if you watch the right game.

And besides Liverpool Chel$ki was a much better game skill and excitment wise

Too many basic errors in the German league, it's okay, and is the next best league to the premiership for intensity.

Isn't the Bundesliga a lot cheaper for the fans? It certainly seems to be more interesting anyway, not the same old names at the top every season.

I'm not sure the standard of the Premier League football is all that either. Sure, if you only watch the teams crammed full of internationals it isn't bad -- but what about your Boltons, Hulls, Sunderlands etc?

Was a silly goal to give away. I suspect Arsene would have taken 1-0 had he been offered it before the game. The most dissapointing part of the game for me was Adebayor who was lazy and showed none of his normal decent hold up play. Getting muscled off the ball far too easily for my liking.

Thought Gibbs and Toure had a very good game overall but we really do need galas back in the central defence.

I think so, afaik the ticket price in Germany is still very low so it is actually stadiums full of ordinary locals

The majority of teams play good football though - look at Fulham, West Ham, hell even West Brom play good passing football. Sunderland are a bit hit and miss, Bolton have a formulae that works for them. hull for the first part of the season played great football.

I know they are local 'rivals' but even without my claret and blue specs on I'd have to disagree. Passing it from the defence to the midfield and back to the defence again is hardly good football.

Sure they are no long ball merchants, but they're hardly Brazil either. I find them spectacularly dull and unadventurous to watch.

We have a lot of teams in the Premier League that are just interested in existing and staying up. They don't play very good football, they don't attack all that much, don't have much quality, just do enough to survive.

It doesn't make for the most exciting league season, even before the issue of the 'same top four' every season is raised. Although they could, of course, be interlinked.

Has this season not been exciting though? We have had the closest of seasons for many a year, with any number of teams fighting to stay up -hell west brom could still survive if results go their way. True the title race is down to 2 teams now, but it was very close until January. European places are still not sorted. You have teams like spurs and man city who were fighting a relegation battle only a few months ago now with a chance of europe. It is true that the top 4 are the same, but I honestly felt there was more actual competition for places this year.

The manager? I am gutted but I don't see how it is the managers fault. We were punching above our weight, and now we are punching hugely under our weight.

We need better players but they are hard to get as they gravitate towards CL teams. Keeping hold of our good players is also very hard.

Still, we've gone from relegation certainties to consecutive top six finishes in, what, 3-4 years is it? If we are talking relative success to the previous six seasons that is a huge improvement.

I could be churlish and point out how long it has been since you won something but you'll be equally churlish and point out that you're going to finish above us for something like the 10th season in a row. I'll then get excitable and ask you if they are handing out medals for fourth place these days.

So lets not go there, eh?

Think Everton/ Villa / Man city / Spurs will mount a decent challenge for a champs league spot next season, and will make things interesting at the top. Redknapp seems to have spurs playing good football, and making less mistakes, you can tell he is frustrated at the mish mash squad he has inherited but has the money at spurs to overhall it this summer. Man city obviously have the cash, and hopefully they are sensible and stick with Hughes and don't buy/sell without his concent. Villa have the biggest struggle, they need to hold on to Barry and replace Laursen, while also increasing the depth of the squad. Everton will hopefully add to their squad, they had quite a long run in Europe and the FA cup final should also generate some extra funds for them.

I agree. I doubt Barry will stay and I won't begrudge him his move, even if it is a waste of a classy player to go and sit on Liverpool's bench.

I think our main problem will be money this year. Rumours are that Lerner has been hit very badly by the economic collapse worldwide. I am quite resigned to us being a top eight team next season.

MON took a big gamble, I think, knowing we wouldn't have much to spend in the Summer and that CL qualification would attract a better level of player. However that dream has now gone, so we'll probably be looking to sign some players from the relegated teams I would guess.

You know I think Barry to liverpool is off now, I do not see Benitez needing him now. If I had to take a bet, and I know this would mean no European football, but I think a big money move to spurs or man city could be on for him.
