tbh, I think Rooney did an amazing job covering Maicon up! Yeah he took a yellow card, but he also took Maicon out of the game and made a mind blowing assist!

Or is it just me?

The only team that can do anything versus the english one's will be barcelona..

Hope they will be on fire.

Inter were a real threat with maicon on our left. I am not sure why it took us till the second half to get rooney to track him, but he is better for the team when he is allowed to.

Of course they will. Platini spent a portion of his career at an italian club, he loves italy. Would he moan as much if it was Italy dominating, would he fuck. You know what I also find funny about this slimy toad, is that when madrid wanted to spend £80m on Ronaldo, he said its good that the big clubs can buy the best players, but when City want to spend £100m on kaka, he claims it would ruin football. The guy is the biggest bellend on earth.

Lets not forget he wanted Juventus to win the CL, in spite of them being probably the most corrupt team in club football.

No doubt he'll find some loophole to punish us for sending them packing :D

Change takes a long time though. We have people in power that are incapable of changing their opinions, they are just too old now. The next generation of FIFA and UEFA executives will probably be pro England, they will have grown up seeing crowd trouble from other nations, and English football actually improving the standard and value of European football.

surprise surprise ... you know what, they will probably blame the English fans for attending the match and kick us out the champions league for a couple years just to give the italians a chance to win.

Thing is the Italians will not win anyway. Corruption and scandal, along with the increased quality of play and money in other leagues has stripped them of their media power, and buying power. Germany are up and coming, and Barca and Madrid will always be powerhouses.

The french teams are doing quite good aswell. I think we'll see Marseille, Bordeaux and maybe PSG, a lot more in the future.

The French had a really strong Euro presence only 5 or 6 years ago, then they said hello to the money and sold off their better players. But yes, they are rebuilding, and they seem to have very good coaches and a embarrassment of youth talent.

Inter was a fair side for man utd, not like man utd totally overclassed them, if inter had 1 decent finisher.. And juve is doing good with such a team, if they buy a few good players.. They are rebuilding after the corruption and they will be back.

Man utd were very sloppy to be honest, inter really only came back in the first half because we kept giving away the ball with unforced errors..

Jose's "world player of the year" was awful yet again in the knockout stages... what is that now, 16 games without the guy scoring or even putting in a good performance in them?

Sky Sports | Football | Champions League | News | Gunners fan 'stabbed' in Rome

Suprise suprise Roma fans causing trouble again. If that was in England, all the teams would be thrown out of Europe. Wonder if UEFA will turn a blind eye because all the Italian teams are out.
2 Chelsea fans were (not fatally) stabbed in Turin before the Juventus game as well. Pretty worrying that nothing is done about it, can you imagine the attention it would get if the "english hooligans" did anything remotely as bad?

a tiny bit off-topic:
The real Ronaldo, O Fenômeno, scored again last night. I wonder whether he wants to play in europe one last time, if he doesn't get injured again.

With all his comebacks, he's definately the greatest player I've seen.

Pfft, he isn't fit to lace Zidane's boots. Zidane is by far the greatest player since Maradonna.

I do not agree here. 49 matches, 47 goals for barcelona when he was 19 (in one season). He's the biggest talent ever seen in football, in my opinion. It's just a shame the injuries nearly has destroyed his career so many times, however he has scored every time he has returned.

I've never seen such a complete player before.

Good match last night but my god Inter a way off getting to be a good side.

Firstly Ibrahimovic actually lived up to hype in my opinion, his control was excellent he created opportunities, 10/10 for receiving the ball, hit the ball and looked dangerous, only let down was the poor miss at post, but then again hi Berba and O'Shea for horrid misses.

Inter's play all went through the big swede though, but they had noone bar maicon to go up and support him, by the time Zlatan had controlled and bought it down the Utd players had already backtracked ahead of the Inter players and surrounded him, still created a few, he really should be a better club though, any top4 english side he would be simply sublime for.

Utd themselves looked like a solid unit yet again, best team in the world atm without a doubt.

Four english teams through, ideal tie would be

Arsenal - Bayern
Chelsea - Porto
Liverpool - Villareal
Man Utd - Barcelona

would make for interesting matches either way

Zidane had the vision and control that was simply unbelieveable though, he was brilliant for his range of passing and ability to control the tempo of a game. His greatest attribute, however, was his decision making - when to shoot, when to pass, and where players were going to run his amazing abilities were his impeccable technique and his computer-like footballing brain, the man was a machine. He is superior imo to the real Ronaldo.

He has started to hint about a move tho. He said something like this in an interview.

"I've won the league a couple of times now, and the only thing i wanna do is win this damn cup."

"Do you think you can stay in Inter and win Champions League"
"I don't know, we'll see"

Inter will never win the CL tbh, to many mediocre players in the squad. Think i can see the swede moving soon though, in a decent side he will be without a doubt a class act.

Zlatans performance last night summed up his career. At times he was awesome but just didnt do enough to take himself to the next level.

From what i saw, it was the players around him failing rather then himself, give him a decent squad and you'll see his best. What more can the swede do when there are next to no players following him up to support him in attacks?

People looks at Zlatan for the goals and when they don't see one they think hes pish, yet his work in team moves was simply amazing, EVERY Inter attack went through him over the past 2 legs. I was throughly impressed tbh. Inter are the biggest bottlers anyways, they will never win CL.
