having seen my fair share of "goodbye" threads, i can honestly say that i think they're just a final stab at getting some attention... if you want to leave, you should just leave and not say a word... people will either say "i wonder where he's gone?" or "thank fuck he's gone, not seen him for ages"

either way, if you go quietly in the night like you should, then you avoid one of two things:

1.) having your ego pampered with a million and one "oh so sad to see you go, we will miss you! *mwah mwah*" style posts evident in this very thread

or

2.) having your ego smashed to tiny pieces as the vast majority of people on the forum squeal with delight at the news and begin arranging a meet up in a pub to celebrate.

If you make a 'goodbye' statement, half the time you'll come back anyway.

I say, thought i might as well poke my head into this thread before it eventually gets locked or deleted. Sure krypt could get annoying at times, we all can, but i found him alright. I remember receiving flak when i first joined the forums for the way i'd spam my way into all the threads and, generally, contribute nothing of value.

But they have learned. I now spam my way into all the threads and nobody reads them!

Seriosuly though, this is a community and you'll always find people who will and wont like you (wazzerphuk being a case in point here). But hey, you learn to deal with it and work your way around it. Besides, i'm always assured i'll laugh at something on here whenever i feel bored.

When someone is leaving we say "bye" or "goodbye" to wish them well on their journey. Therefore is "badbye" a valid word if we don't want to be particularly nice to them as they leave.

Not that I'm saying badbye to Krypt but just throwing a different discussion into the topic of 'Bye'.
